No 4th gen recalls yet. 1 broken ADD documented so far. And a little electrical doohickey on the shutter grill is malfunctioning on some of new ones? What else am I missing? And this has got peoples' panties all up in a bunch?

    ^Not people's, just @TheFactor's

The grille shutter problem is actually debilitating if the shutter is stuck closed. And if the actuator is on nationwide backorder, well... I don't know if you can manually pry it open and drive it while waiting for the repair.

    There's also been:
One reported case of the red Bilstein front shock shaft punching through the top hat.
One reported case of parking brake switch malfunction.

Yeh some were calling for the recall of the entire model lol. Pretty thin skinned and easily influenced.

^You talking people or trucks? :p I know my 3rd gen is very thin-skinned. When I replaced a fender due to trail damage, the replacement fender was lighter than the bubblewrap it shipped in. People fret over panel gaps. I stopped worrying about it when I realized the fender could flex a good inch in every direction if I loosen the screws a little.

Buy Husky Long John universal flaps and cut to size. Make a template with cardboard if you need to. Mount them to the cab mount with the conveniently located forward-facing holes.

That is the best video I have seen yet on the 4th Gen... It makes it even more helpful since the video is of basically the same color and trim as my current one. Thanks for sharing that one. He does a great job at his walk thru's I'm gonna have to save that channel for future reviews.

Agreed. He goes past the repetitive surface level and without the personality pimping.

on the bolded part, I wouldn't blame that on Toyota. that's a Bilstein issue if the truck wasn't being abused

Hey, Visa and @COACHPPARK , can you upload detailed pics and end-user intel on the gas cap door? I want to see if Toyota continued using its bomber 3rd Gen design with the little squiggle on the leash, no-rest flap, and sweet piano wire hinge. Thx! -Mal

More than half the parts on the truck come from suppliers. It's still a Toyota issue on a factory part that may be tied to a design change for 4th gen (switch from steel to aluminum top hat). Unless you suggest to avoid ORs until the issue is fixed?

^The hinge can't rust if it's plastic, right?

Adding a spot to hang the gas cap is the only improvement I've noticed vs the 3rd gen. And making the fuel door round was an interesting choice on a body design that is less round than their previous truck.

No you see, it's fiber infused plastic. Suck on that 3rd gen!

^You missed out on the plastic oil filter cap and plastic fuel tank skid. Gotta make it up somewhere.

Jokes aside, most plastics on modern vehicles have some percentage of chopped fiberglass content for strength.
