Got rid of the weak AF 11 guage steel mounts that bent even with reinforcement brackets installed and replaced with the Rockhound Bumper Mount Kit.

Cut the welds and peeled the mounts off...

Nice, I just fully cut off the lower cross member and welded a square tube in between. More approach angle!

i considered that for approach angle but didnt wanna rework my skid plate cause I "customized" my RCI skid to work with my JD Fab LCA Pivot kit. i didnt like the way the JD Fab skid fit so i didnt use it and sent it back.

Damn... would been nice to know those plates existed when i was considering doing the same before getting bumper reinforcement plates. Till i realized the SSO interface plate is 1/2"
So how are you mounting the bumper now? going to tack some bolts to the back of the new plates and have the studs work like the OEM bumper does?

this kit uses 7/16 Grade 8 hardware as an upgrade to the stock studs. i wasn't planning to tack the bolts in as there is good access to the bolt heads behind for install.

ah ok, so you wont be able to hang/ locate the bumper to make your life easier to bolt things into place but would need to balance it on a jack or something to actually mount it.or the bolt holes are a tight enough tolerance that you can stuff the bolt in, hang the bumper and then toss a nut on without the bolt sagging downwards from the weight

    Screenshot 2024-03-22 154822.png
granted, its not like you're taking the bumper off once a week so it's a non-issue

haha you are totally right it would make life easier especially since the solenoid on my winch tucks under that cross member in front of the radiator so you can't come at it straight on. plus... have you seen how NOT small and light my bumper is?

Hi new here. From Richmond Hill.
    Heres my '23 TRD Sport

Looking for a little advice for tire sizing.

    Current set up is:
2 inch leveling kit in the front.
16x8.5 inch +0 offset wheels (with 265/70/16 cooper at3 4s at the moment)

Looking to upgrade the tires and size up at the same time (as im not a fan of the coopers in winter.)

I want to keep the wheels i have now.

I know with everything stock you can run 265/75R16 tires but if I'm going to bother upgrading i want as big as i can fit. Does the 2 inch lift allow anything bigger than the 265/75s?

Ive heard about the 255/85 route and I'm not against it but the tires in that size are all crazy expensive.

    I don't mind modding/trimming if necessary.

+ if necessary Im wondering if anyone has done/will do the cmc for other members around the GTA? I could probably do the chop myself but i cant weld or fab to save my life and i would want to add the block off plates. Id have no issue paying or donating a case or two of cold ones.

    Thanks in advance. Cheers

    EDIT:

I also have a K&N cold air intake if anyone wants it. Nothing wrong with it. Just went with the HPS pipe i bought from @19Canuck Instead. I don't have enough posts to post in the classified section yet but id let it go for a case of beer or two

    Welcome!

I have run 255’s and I believe @Shveet is running them with no cab mount chop or lift. With the wider tires (285’s or 315’s) you will most likely need a cab mount chop. Summit auto linked on the first page can do them. I have done a few but don’t have the time or space to do them at this time.

we have a coffee meet in Milton coming up which may be a good spot to talk tires and fitment. Lots of different folks with a variety of setups.
