Ok... so heres the thing. I have a Canadian TRD with a stock 4 pack rear leaf that is SAD and looking pretty flat. (previous owner towed a boat with it regularly)

I'm going to go with the 5100's, but am really unsure what settings to go with. For now i'm not replacing tires, would like a little lift but not that much. I really want to keep the factory rake with out making the tires look too small. I have a fibreglass tonneau, and its a longbed. do you guys think that setting the billies at 1.75, and then going with a 1.5" aal would work? maybe i sould be looking at .85 and a 1" aal. not sure.

what do you guys think? I'm just curious if it makes a difference to the lifting rate of the AAL being that i already have a 4 pack real leaf?

I currently am running 1.75 in front, rear Tsb with 5100's on all 4 corners. Have cap on the back and truck is sitting a little nose high. Going to put in toytec 1" block to bring the rear up. 265-75-16 Goodyear Dura Trac MT R's on FJ SE wheels to go on shortly.

    Erll,

If I remember correctly, the 5100's are in the .85 stock height setting right out of the box.....

I think mine were at 0. I currently have them set at the second ring, I think that is .85. I was under the impression that the lowest ring was 0 and that was the same as stock. I may be incorrect as my wife points this out often.

Ok, I see now, I was referring to the choices in the poll , not the location on the shock. Sorry:D

This is a great forum....don't get me wrong but I'm going to express my unwanted opinion.
Built a few trucks, mostly 1st' gen yotas as in x2 81's and an 80.

People need to stop worrying about engine ticks, loud noises when it rains, etc, etc, etc.
So your blower motor is noisy.
    So fukin what.
    Is my truck perfectly level.
    So fukin what.

Get out and drive the thing...challenge it.
Im not suggesting you beat your rigs but the more time you spend on the forums discussing the fine points and the mitigating faactors the more time you are losing on the trail.
If the shocks aren't set right then what better way to find out than the trail right?
Yes it may sit perfect at the mall but will that really matter when it is high centered or buried in mud?
I really like these forums for the info they provide on the trucks we all love and own but real world is the best teacher.
Quit second guessing yourself and go wheel the goddamn thing.
You will know right away if your mods were worth the money and you will know the shortcommings too.
These trucks are built to be used.
Set your fuckin shocks and go wheeling.
    Figure it out from there.

    Thanks man.
By the description it sounds like we have similar trucks.

I wheeled mine yesterday and although my truck sits level I have learned I need new rear shocks.
After the AAL it increased the height and the shocks extend too soon leaving a tire in the air instead of the ground.
Little measuring and a new set of shocks should get me flexy.

I love this setting. My next lift, if I ever need a new one, will be this.

This is what I want. How far will I be off from this set up if I go with 5100's in front with new uca's. exteded length 5100's in the rear along with new Dakar leaf packs. Pretty much it will be the ToyTec ultimate lift with all the extras. I will be going with 255/75/17 tires. and ill be looking at a good setting for this set up.

I've got the same setup in the front but have the Expos in the rear. Same thing...alignment is spot on and no stress on my stock UCAs
