Hi everyone...I'm new to the group but not to the Tacoma. This is my 6th one. My 2023 truck is in the shop as I type. The passenger seat belt warning and beep drives me crazy after I drop my passenger off without shutting off the truck.. The light stays on and within a mile it beeps. I have to stop and shut off the truck and it resets. It seems the passenger seat doesn't recognize that the passenger is not in the seat anymore and the is no weight on the seat. Dealer says they are trying to figure it out and it may be the way its set up from the factory. I told them if they dont already know that then this cant be the 1st time they have seen this. Is this true that the seatbelts work this way. Its distracting.? I dont buy it. If anyone has this same scenario please let me know thanks!

Sounds like you are doing the right thing and letting the dealer figure it out under warranty.

“May be the way it is from the factory”

“You wanna tell me that again?” is what I’d have said right back to their face.

Lol no car has ever been that way from the factory, much less an 8 year old design from their manufacturer that has sold millions of units but yeah sure one guy with the last model year is the only one to notice.

Get yerself to an honest shop instead!

Thanks after arguing with the service manager they finally called me back and told me they recalibrated the seat weight sensor and the problem has been resolved. I appreciate the help thanks
