I have a 2012 Tacoma TRD off-road. My CE light came on for a P0705 code. I recently replaced my transmission lines that were leaking significantly due to rust and power steering lines that were also rusted through. Due to both of those leaks there was significant fluid buildup underneath my truck. I also have no gear indicator light on my dash and my turn signals don’t work but my hazards do. lastly I have to push my neutral release to get out of park. What can I do to fix this code? Any questions feel free to ask.

Check your IG1, IG1 No 2, and STOP fuses first.

Pardon my ignorance. My truck starts and drives no problem, after I hit the neutral release and shift into drive of course. What would the ignition have to do with it.

Those fuses can blow and the truck will still run but they do power the shift interlock and transmission range switch.

Ok thank you, now if it’s not the fuses where should I start looking?

I have another issue, the IG2 fuse keeps popping. I don’t know where to start.

Does it only blow when you turn on the A/C?

It seems to only blow when I put it in reverse. I wonder if there’s a short in my auxiliary reverse lights..

So your IG1 fuse is blowing? That's the one that powers the reverse lights.

No, the same one that popped for my cluster gear lights, shift interlock, reverse lights, and reverse camera was the IG2, or at least that’s the way mine is wired. It keeps popping when I put it in reverse.

It would seem you have a short in your reverse lights or wiring but the fuse you say is blowing doesn't power the reverse lights...

Can you take a picture of the position of the fuse that's blowing so we're on the same page because on all the wiring diagrams it shows IG1 to power the reverse lights, IG1 No 2 doesn't power anything to do with the reverse lights, shift interlock, or transmission range switch.

My apologies I am completely incorrect. It is the IG1 I’m just stupid haha. fyi Only reason the fuse is missing is because I was replacing it again.

Ok so it would indeed seem we are chasing a short in the reverse lights or ascociated wiring.

Start with a visual inspection of the wiring for any place it could be rubbing against metal, if you don't find anything then unhook your aftermarket lights and see what happens.

I was finally able to work on the truck today. Turns out the harness for the aux reverse lights was sitting on the exhaust tip. You could very easily see the wires were exposed inside. Thank you for your help! I’m sure I’ll be back to ask more questions in the future! Enjoy your week!

    I'm back!......
so yesterday i was driving up a mountain road (its a paved state road) and about halfway up my truck let out 2 white smoke clouds. Upon further inspection i noticed red fluid had soaked my front driveshaft and that fluid covered the exhaust resulting in the white clouds. now i just did the transmission lines and they were not leaking and are also on the passenger side of the tranny. The only place i could imagine it would have come out would be the pan gasket but i cant be 100% sure. i did fill my transmission after doing the lines and did so until it spilled out then started the truck until it spilled out again. its still missing a gear when accelerating. please help. i am getting to the point of trading it in.....its only been 2 years.

Can't really tell you where it's leaking, you will have to find it. Pan gaskets typically don't leak though.

Did you do the proper procedure when you filled it?
