    Just remembered it did get weighed a few times. It was under 3900lbs with a load of a few hundred pounds of scrap metal. I’d have to find that receipt but it’s really not that heavy of a flatbed.

    Damn, with metal scrap

    That's light!

    I remember posting here about a guy I ran into on the CNC group...dude was building a flatbed on his 1st Gen but was going full ham with 3/16" square tube

    When I asked him about weight, think he was in the neighborhood of 7-800lbs

    I weighed mine and it landed right at 200, and then another 85? i think for bumper and hitch. That said, I was definitely holdiong it and balancing it and could have had it imperfectly sitting on the bathroom scale. :laughing:

    Go aluminum!

    Although I'd hate to build my own from aluminum; aside from raw material costing more, I find using a spoolgun is only great when doing long runs

    The shorter runs are the ones that cause your freaking aluminum to stick to your tip so I can't imagine doing so many aluminum tacks before welding it up

    What I'm saying is; buy it used or get someone to make it for ya!

    If I was going aluminum I'd just buy a aluma bed.

    Yeah it has no front bumper again and the truck is missing a lot of parts from stock. I haven't measured what gauge plate they put down on the bed, it's sunken in at spots between the flatbed crossmembers where it's not as supported underneath. Bed was made by Easley Trailer in Anson, TX for a Toyota pickup. So it's not a custom job.

    The bed on my brother's Tundra is destroyed. So when I eventually get it I'll have to figure out flatbed options. I've seen a UTE brand aluminum bed that doesn't look great but it's "cheap" and would do the job. All the nicer looking options probably start in the $7K+ range.

    @Ozark_RegCab

    Being from Arkansas, you need to buy yourself a Combat Wombat :muscleflexing:

    Man Sofia is uber sick, high fever and cough last night that Tylenol didn't even take the edge off of. Ibuprofen seems to help some but she's still just as sick this evening, gonna be another long night :bananadead:

    Rebecca was sick a couple weeks ago that never passed to any of us so I'm kinda wondering if maybe it just took that long for Sofia to get it and I'm hopefully immune lol. But more than likely she picked up some boss level flu virus from her school and we'll all be victims soon
