If this topic has been beat to death I apologize. I purchased a 2014 Tacoma. 4 door sr5. It has a suspension noise so I dug in a little and found out it has 2-1” spacers welded together up front and 2” leaf spacer with different leafs in the rear. I like the height but it could be about 1/2” lower in the front. I would like to get the ride closer to stock. It’s a daily driver and I occasionally go off road. After some research I was thinking bilstein 5100 front and rear. Front set on 1.5” with aftermarket springs to maintain a soft ride. Any suggestions or are their cheaper options?

Pull the spacers and buy a Gen 3 Off Road "take off" suspension for $300 -$400. Search local Craigslist or Facebook for the parts.

Sorri I didn’t say I’m a new member to Tacoma world. Looking forward to learning. My first Tacoma also. Took me 66 years to see the light. I’ve had old jeeps and broncos and trucks. Never been without a 4wd though. Thanks in advance.

From one old fart (69) to another old fart, welcome to TW! Lots of good folks and good information here.

And yes, ditch the spacers and find a good set of low mileage 3rd gen take-offs at suggested by @MR5X5

Thanks guys. Will that raise me over stock about 1.5” in front? I found one and would like to send the add to either one of you to look at it please. Do I need an email or private message? Not sure. Thx

Would have been nice if the springs were still mounted to the shocks but you can get a shop to do that for you. Gonna need a rear leaf pack as well. No need to change out the UCAs. The lift should be just about what you are looking for - search the forum for what others have experienced. Price is good. Good luck!

Thank you. I found another set with the springs on for 300. Might go that route. They only have 100 mile supposedly.

3rd gen TRD off road coilovers + 3/8" thick top hat spacer will yield 1.5" of lift. That's exactly what I installed on my truck immediately after I bought it (since the prior owner had installed a 3"/1" spacer lift). The 3rd gen suspension will give you 0.75" of lift and then the 3/8" thick top hat spacer will give you the other 0.75" of lift. Yes, it's still a spacer, but you shouldn't have issue running a small one like this.

Also, if you have two 1" spacers up front currently that would work out to be a 4" lift. That's quite a lot and way too much to be accomplished with spacers.

As for rear leafs, if yours are not flat then you could simply add a leaf(s) to get you where you want to be. You'd need to do some leaf searches to understand all the options.

Awesome. Thanks to all. You have been very helpful. I found a guy that will change everything for $200. And at 67 years old this sounds like a pretty good deal ha ha
