Yes, I looked at the access cab pictures. I don’t really like those back seats for my occasional adult occupants.

I'm just saying without the external door handles it's not really a door, is it? It's just an access hatch and can only be accessed if the actual door is opened first.

Honestly, I wouldn't put an adult in the back seat of a double cab for more than an hour unless I really disliked them. I wouldn't put a child in the back seat of an access cab.

V6 seems to be the consensus based on what I’ve heard. Don’t think there’s enough trust in the 4 yet.

I test drove this 2023 OR today. 10,000 miles on it. Nicer ride than I was expecting for a truck. Wasn’t sure about the Lunar Rock color but in person it was nice. Pricey though at $42k asking. Had an aftermarket tonneau cover. Roll up style.

Not bad! 10,000 miles is nothing. If you’re gonna spend that much make sure the color works for you. I once bought a tundra as the guy was giving me a great deal for it but I didn’t care for the color. After a couple weeks I regretted not waiting and paying a little extra for what I wanted.

The Lunar rock color is growing on me. I kind of dig it now. I just wish the truck was $4k cheaper. But that’s probably not realistic. To answer Avalon’s question about the up-charge on the long bed, According to Edmunds, MSRP for the OR short bed was $39,755. The long bed was $40,367. So about +$600.
What bugs me is that the asking price now is almost $2k higher than MSRP when it was new. This one is used.

Yeah, don't buy that truck. New 23s are all under MSRP right now. A used truck over MSRP when it was new is an insult.

Welcome, sir! Test drive a second generation if you can. 2005-2015 model year. If you can find one with lower miles, no rust,no oil leaks, and no paint chipping. Different styling and a slightly larger engine but will last a long time if taken care of! It’s a pretty large generalization..without any real evidence..but 2012-2015 years seem to have a great reputation.

good luck and hope you find one you like! You won’t regret it.

Maybe look at non 4x4 if you don’t plan on off-roading because a 2 wheel drive will be much less expensive.

I need the 4wd option where I live….. Winter driving around town and on sketchy roads accessing ski areas.

Disappearing fast, only 68 long bed Tacomas currently showing on CarGurus Nationwide. Many stock photos which probably allude to not actually there.

That’s a $46,000 truck at Carmax, and they are generally $2-3k high. Some dealers price right off Carmax and try to be that far back. The Taco below was $45,900 and went pending while I was typing this!!! Looks like a long bed. Also, probably the best place to test drive if all you want to do is test drive.

Hell had I found that 2023 when I was looking I would have jumped on it. I got a 2022 TRD Sport for a little more but it only had 5600 miles. I only wanted a long bed.

Too many people buying 3rd Gen while they can. 2024 gets confusing about cab/door options, plus the body has far too many 90-degree angles in the body panels for my taste ... and the turbo-4 with no established history in a 4x4 that people will hammer like they hammered the V6 off-road.

I preferred the Lunar Rock, but bought what was available at the time given the demands and supply. Also ANY white in a Tacoma has potential issues for peeling (not guaranteed but potential) while Lunar Rock has no reported large-scale issues.

You buy the Lunar Rock. I will give you my white and even throw in the expected-to-be-delivered Total Chaos bed stiffeners and $50 Tractor Supply Company bed mat. Even swap. :D

I drove a Frontier and a Canyon for comparison. Then went back to drive that Tacoma again and it had been sold.
    The search continues….

Since you have no intention of off roading I see no downside to buying DCLB other than scarcity and possibly a bit more of a pain to park. If you can’t find one with leather, Clazzio seat covers look pretty much like factory and aren’t too expensive. Good luck with the hunt.

Is this documented somewhere that all white Tacomas have paint quality issues?
