Anyone aware of any deals on packouts? I need to get 4-6 of them to outfit my new setup.

They show up in my feed every other day; think they just don't get posted often because the sales are normally the same and pale in comparison to tool and battery prices.

In short, just watch the app and buy them up when on sale.

Where do you look to find them? Home Depot had a good deal around the holidays where for every $200 spent on packout you'd get $50 off or similar. What app?

Not this last Christmas but about two before this last one, my wife bought me the big rolling Packout.

Came free with two of the mid-sized packouts which made it like a good $200 off or so I forget.

The mid-sized aren't all that cheap by themselves at regular price so I was stoked that she got such a good deal on it.

I just went with Husky and got the entire stack for ~$100. The pack outs are nice but they’re also heavier for what they carry and I’m a weight weenie as well as a cheapskate.

I wish I could cheap out, for my application and use case only the Milwaukee stuff will work

I’ve bolted some stuff to it *lists cool stuff here*
IMG_4022.jpg :luvya: No I’m not colorblind and I can also read.. hopefully this isn’t against religion but I will say this thing is badass, I’ve lots of yellow and black 20/60v tools, it’s hard to transition to Milwaukee even though they do have some coooool stuff

I hear good things about Husky

But the packouts aren't any heavier than anything else :notsure:

What’s that? My stuff mostly lives in the bed drawer but maybe a few times a year I either need the entire bed or have to haul the kit a long ways so the only pieces of the stack that see constant use are the hand tool tray and parts bin case. The rolling base box and second stack box both sit unused quite a bit.

Building a packout system that replaces the set of drawers in my bed.

My drawers aren't removeable. The packouts will be. So I can easy remove the packouts via the floor mounts and have a truck again, instead of not being able to carry what I want because I have drawers, spare tire, fridge slide bolted down.

One set of packouts for tools and "stuff for wheeling" and another set of packouts for camping. I rarely do both at the same time, so I can save a ton of weight by taking out the drawers and free up weight to be used somewhere else.

Husky stuff doesn't offer as many granular options to organize stuff perfectly.

I picked them both up and beg to differ. Pack out stacks are certainly heavier duty and the weight comes with that benefit. The two Husky bins that do see constant use have been solid but I suspect the cart bin is the weakest link. Good enough for my use but not for everyone. Seems to be a common thread in my acquisitions and mods.

I would consider the Kline tools MOD BOX ones if I were to start over. Available at lowes and other fine retailers. I think they have some better features.

I've spent hours designing everything I carry to fit in the packouts. Lots of custom foam cuts, etc. None of the other companies even come close. I need quick removal and ability to mount to a cleat system in the bed.

If I was using these for typical handyman/carpentry work, my opinions might differ

I was impressed with those last time I saw them. Seems like they go on sale as well.

Agreed. We each have different needs/goals. My truck is almost exclusively for work and none of the options available either suit or fit. The battery tool drawer is on a pulley that secures it against the cab with room for a pair of folding saw horses against the tailgate. Drivers side has a full length slot for a Dewalt saw stand and the offset center support dividing the spaces is slotted for 3’, 4’, 6’ levels and 50” clamp & guide. Continuous platform on top is set on the wells and 1x8 maple cross bars leaving enough room for an entire bed’s worth of chop saws, slide saws, and/or table saw w/stand or work related materials. I need that platform setup more than I need the stack. The stack is a convenience for when I can’t have the platform.

I would suggest taking the time to explore Klines offerings. They are relatively comparable to Milwaukee packout. If you’ve already made your decision that’s fine too, I was just offering my opinion.

Milwaukee got me again. I tried to cheap out and buy the new wire stripper that harbor freight just released by Doyle for $10 that looks like it’s good quality, but I stopped by Home Depot and they had a Milwaukee one that has way more features for $22 :annoyed:
