Just installed my new Curt Hitch on my 2013.

Now have to install some wiring. Looking for just a plug and play type. Anyone have any advice or even an Amazon link to a good one to get and had good luck with? I see there are several types to choose from.

    thanks

This is as close as your gona get to plug and play, just note those converter boxes are notorious far causing weird electrical issues with the lights.
I'm assuming you don't have the tow package since you added a hitch?

My 2 cents on the matter.. I went with a Curt hitch on my '15, but I got a OE wiring harness from an on-line Toyota dealer. It was well worth the extra $$, as it fitted exactly how it should, it tied into the fuse box so if something happens to the trailer lights, it doesn't take out the lights on the truck. I would advocate using a factory trailer hitch wiring harness.

Yes, not worried about price. Just wanted advice on what to get. Will definitely go with an oem setup.

I think that you will like it. It has the proper hole grommets on the harness where it passes through the frame and floor board. The instructions were fairly easy to follow. The lower dash disassembly is very minor to get into the fuse block. My 5x10 trailer has LEDS, it did not have any effect on any of the truck lights when using the blinkers or stop lights.

Just happen to stumble upon this post by chance when I was looking for options. Do you have the part number? Also it’s for the 7pin correct? I have the Toyota harness and receiver for a 4pin only and want the 7pin setup.

I know this is for the plug, but I’m not sure what harness wise I’d need to complete the setup.

Any part number for an oem setup? Just need the 4 pin i guess. Don't plan to pull any big trailers. Just maybe stuff from the tool Rental places.

I used the 4 pin "flat bar" setup, I personally wouldn't use a Taco to tow any trailer that's big enough to need its own brakes.

I will look at my records when I get home to verify the P/N. Google is showing PT725-35120

damn 177 for that one. also just want one to plug into the tailights. Have been looking at the directions on one and it shows running wires to the fuse panel and taking half the dash apart! what?

Yup, it ties into the fuse box and has a relay that gets mounted under the dash. I remember only taking off a lower trim panel, not a big deal as far as dash access goes. It's a nice kit, literally the way the factory ( or port installed option) would have come on the truck. It literally goes from the bumper, along the frame, into the floor board around the driver side seat area, through the rocker trim inside of the cab then into the dash. I never considered the tail light in-line tap kits, I had bad experiences with them on other vehicles.
