Cool, so Toyota (and other legacy automakers) should lobby against no direct sales.

but they’d be lobbying against some people who both make the laws and own dealerships, so I don’t think that’ll end up well

Noooo. We as consumers want the direct sales.

Lobbying for direct to consumer sales have been discussed more and more by automakers in the recent past. Example Ford trying to make a bid to sell EV's direct and not letting their dealer network have access to the product.

It is an antiquated process and should have never been implemented, a business should be able to decide on its own which distribution model it chooses. Most other businesses are free to choose, the auto industry is all kinda screwed up in that regard.

We do, but those that control it do not care about the consumer. I wouldn't expect lower prices to come with direct to consumer, but car dealer nonsense would be cut out of the picture.

This so much. Manufacturers know consumers will pay x amount. So why would you get a better price!
I love the hunt for a deal personally, rewarding good dealers and bludgeoning the bad.

I just watched a couple reviews of the Ranger raptor. Pretty badass. That’s a lot of truck for $57K.

I watched the one on the SXT and Lariat trims. So far looks like a contender. I don't like the instrument cluster though. And of course $39k for a base trim and $50k for a Lariat is about $10k too much.

I regret the fact I was unable to add the beadlock wheels without bumping the build date. Guess I'll get them eventually....

If I remove my Toyota truckers cap for a moment and decide to be intellectually honest, the Ranger Raptor appears to be certified awesome, and my first impression is I’d immediately want it. Which then makes me wonder…

Setting aside the expected markups (for both), is Ford trolling Toyota with a $57K MSRP, knowing full well expectations for the TRD Pro are north of $60k?

Just rip the band aid off, and show us the hybrid prices please…

I'm expecting the Pro to be priced like the Bison which is $63K. How is Ford able to offer a Raptor for $57K?

Well toyota might have to change their pricing if the Raptor is that cheap...hell I'd even buy one over a pro
Raptor is 80k in canada though...if the pro is more then that then we have an issue

Damn, we live in a world where $60k is considered 'that cheap'. I think some of the shit at Goodwill is overpriced. :anonymous:

Baffling, considering Braptor prices. Really puts Toyota on the spot.

But if it creates better deals at a Toyota dealer, I’m on board. Competition is a good thing.
