    I'm having problem with locking mechanism too. How did you fix your locking mechanism? I replaced once(bolt snapped) but I'm afraid if it happens again.

    Hi, I missed this.

    I remember all 4 holes did not line up no matter what I tried, i ended up drilling one additional hole into the jerry can mount so I wouldn't damage the swingout.

    I have broken the latch mechanism twice now. The bolt sheared.

    Smittybilt (Chance Parks at Smittybilt customer service) just replaced the latch assembly again for me. I cannot tell if it's a better bolt.

    Not to rehash this, I'm curious about the latch failure? Wheeling related? Or just general use/wear and tear?

    And should I see about ordering some spare parts?
    Haven't had an issue... YET.
    I like the latch, but, I keep trying to think of ways to make it better.
    Wife, not so much a fan.
