I am going to document my "issue" and bring all of you along (willingly or unwillingly!). Picked up my "used" 2023 SR5 Tacoma 3 weeks ago. Got it used at 6000 miles. Was happy with the purchase. Tried to get it certified but the sales manager said due to the "axle recall,” he cannot officially certify it. Something about Toyota giving him a hard time about certifying a truck with a recall notice. (Then again, ok to sell) Note: Getting it certified was particularly important to me. Nevertheless, I went ahead and purchased the truck and bought a "platinum" VSA just to cover my ass.

A week ago, after trying to use my windshield wiper fluid, it sprayed under the hood on the passenger side. I guess this issue has been documented by a few members on here. Went to the dealer and they could not fix/adjust it. They scheduled another appointment to replace the nozzle with differing angles. This morning, they tried to install the different variations and it did not work (of course not, right???!!!). Tech said the hood is misaligned. So, I am now being sent to a Toyota body shop owned by another dealer to see if they could realign it. Now, my biggest worry here is - who pays for the labor? If the realignment does not work - which is a high probability given what I have read, a new hood will be required. The service manager is extremely nice and said they will try to do the right thing for me. She indicated since its "under" warranty, (not sure what she meant), this should be taken care of by Toyota. Clearly this is a manufacturing defect which should not be my cost to repair. So, I hope to see a resolution with me not having to experience an unwilling colonoscopy. Waiting to hear from the dealer on Monday on where, who and how. Pictures to come for those who might have this issue.

Just stick a sewing needle in the nozzle and rotate it where you want it. Worked on every car I've owned.

Pictures of hood misalignment. Plus it is under warranty, you mentioned only 6k miles. Bumper to bumper is 3yr/ 36k miles. They (sprayer) can be adjusted.

Bought it "used" and as such falls under NYS "used" limited warranty - DOES not cover body panels. Was reading the VSA Platinum fine print. Warranty does not cover body panels. Tech said it can't be adjusted. So, this will be a debate.... I ain't touching anything. Also, you would think the term "bumper to bumper" would lead you to believe these kinds of things would be covered? Will post pic when it gets warmer ... 6 inches of snow.

Nope, Toyota does not have an "official" remedy yet. 2nd quarter is when they say a remedy will be available.

The only recall at this point is the rear axle recall.

Doesn't matter if used. Manufacturers 3yr/36k and 5yr/60k apply to new owner, warranty stay with vehicle. If hood is warped, that's a factory defect.

Not sure what the point is of getting such a low mileage / low time vehicle certified. I mean you realize there’s a ton of the original warranty left right??

Ok, something new I learned. My assumption is "used"= 90 day warranty.
