    I’m in on a Saturday beer garden/brewery.

Still trying to see if I can get out of family obligations on April 6th for the trail ride. I wanted to camp 4/4-4/6 but work is crazy preparing for a convention at McCormick place convention center in Chicago 4/9-4/11. Still hoping I can skip a family birthday party on Saturday the 6th to hit the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail.

SMORR has a beautiful camping area: tonight it won’t snow or rain! 70 degrees with a light cloud cover. Perfect

That definitely looks more hospitable than your previous site. Just watch out for them dudes with banjos, I hear they got a taste for northern Yeti types such as yerself.

Hey there fellers. Got something I'm just throwing out there to see if any interest in the WI area. (sorry longer post...)

Short version - have a used car in the Brookfield area that may be available for sale next week or so before hacking it over to Carmax or wherever just to get rid of it (estate stuff). Relatively cheap and may be good for an extra or kid's first? Have a potential private sale but looks like it will fall through (90/10 odds of him bailing lol)

Long on the Details - 2013 Hyundai Tucson, 126k+change miles, red, one owner. Tires decent enough and held air all winter, new battery couple days ago (sat inside storage since Nov). Apparently early in its life had a minor rear bumper bender, professionally repaired and no problems with it since. Heat / AC reportedly fine. Aftermarket rear camera. Both fobs. Fair to decent shape - not mint but not abused either, just a decade old. Still has Nebraska title  but we're told this isn't an issue.

So, I'm not out there - Mrs Arc is (the Stormbringer the other day lol). This car was her sister's who passed away last fall and she's selling it working to clear out the estate. She had one of her helpers from last fall out there who was / is interested, but is now currently unemployed and is trying get more time from us. We don't want to drag it out with him and the unknown. We gave him till mid week next week while Mrs is still there, but I doubt he will be able to pull it together.

Soooooo, just seeing if anyone else in the area has any interest. We're asking $4K which seems is a realistic trade value (not asking the higher retail value) as given by the Internet Car Gods. Not trying to make money on it, but not giving it away either, to be fair to the estate. Feel free to respond or PM as desired for other questions or info.

We'd like to know any interest by end of Sunday or sometime Monday at the very latest. We're trying to accommodate the interested helper, but just don't feel it's going to work. Looking for others from the area for a (hopefully) good little grab and go offer. Just sorry about the short notice - Mrs is only there for another week and would just like it out of the way on this current trip. We'd probably know by mid Wednesday that the other party bailed.

Thanks for consideration, and we now return you to your regularly scheduled program........ of off road shenanigans from what I gather above....

Do any of you remember my post of a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson?

'Do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and make a trail.'

Do you think 'path' was intended to be 'Pat'?

That looks fun. Not bad at all.

Unlike the suddenly 40 degrees and raining while I'm trying to deal with a leaking front axle and shredded inner tie rod boot :frusty:

    :anonymous:

The thing is both trucks are crossing into the high 90s at the same time and both have similar amounts of wear and tear. A lot of stuff needs to be maintenance and worked on at the same time. For example, my torn inner tie, rod boot and leaking axle seal on the silver truck is an issue because I was going to take that with the kiddo to SMORR to meet the fellas and hang out for a bit.

The black truck is already down because the outer tie rod ends are shot and it's wobbling while driving and that is not safe. Supposedly the ones I ordered have arrived at my parents house. However, most of my tools from the shop are over an hour away in a buddy's garage. Because my crappy apartment has no storage and the people I know close to here with garages including my parents don't have room for my crap.

    :bananadead:

And the surprise rain is not helping. Was hoping to tackle the tie rod ends Monday, but it's supposed to rain all day then too. And the apartment management is cracking down on expired tags and threatening to start towing vehicles. I tried to talk to them about my situation with the one truck not being up to date even though I've paid my property taxes. I'm still waiting on a receipt from the county so I can take that to the DMV... It's kind of a mess. Had a lot of stuff hit all at the same time.

    dang that’s rough. You’ve had a heck of a start to 2024.

Surprised you don’t have a truck toolbag though. I use mine all the time
