It's crazy. The state park system is expecting 250 people to hike up Flatside Pinnacle. That's a small place. Then the Perry County rescue is setting up a treatment center at Lake Sylvia to deal with injured people.

Then stuff like this is going on

"When totality occurs," writes the poster, "we will have simultaneous orgasms and we will conceive a child that will be on the next level of human evolution."
He is very specific about how the act will happen, even if the exact location is TBD.
"We will make love together, with me and my penis directed towards the sun," he writes. "Everything will be aligned in the local universe. Both of our cosmic orgasmic energy will be aligned with the planets."

electrical gremlins and engine problems come pre packaged. no beef with the transmission, tcase, or axles. even the Dana 30 front is beefier than the old one used in the 90-2000s, don't know why it didn't earn a new model number

You've got to have a sense of humor to live here and in NYC. Though we may be separated by distance, there are some strange similarities.

I'm not sure I'm gonna do anything special for it with all the crowds expected out there. I work that day anyway, so I'll probably just poke my head outside and say "that's pretty neat."

    It's a Jeep that -

    1. Is overpriced, because it's a Jeep

    2. Was FCA, so it's unreliable as fuck

    3. Did you read points 1 and 2?

I actually liked the base model 2 door demo I used for almost a month; was stick shift, with manual windows and locks even

    But I wouldn't buy one

    @Speedytech7
Facebook recommended you as a friend earlier and I have no clue how it determined I had any connection to you.

No mutual friends. I’ve had this happen before with people I vaguely know but don’t even have contact info for. Really makes me wonder.

Yeah that’s the thing. I don’t have his number. Only person I have should be @Running Board Man

Maybe I watched a YouTube video of his if he’s posted one in here but it definitely wasn’t recent.

Somehow I'm in the Utah desert sitting next to a fire, God gave me enough Internet to ask "why the fuck is reliability such a need!?" I drove a Ford and Mercedes and I haven't died or gone bankrupt, yet.

That says more about you than your beaters. Also you do have the most reliable Ford. I wouldn't trust your merc to even take me to the airport though haha.

This is what people said about my bmw 150k mile ago

Aside from the easy AF to replace oil cooler and the lifters that were silent *for now* what am I looking at as far as engine problems

Am aware of electrical problems... dealt with several ficm related gremlins when I was a mechanic

And the sketchy ficm bypasses gremlins too

I share that sentiment I've been turning off traction control and wanabee drifting my 15 year old bmw for like 2 years now and the only engine part I've needed to replace is a crankshaft position sensor at 249k miles... I think reliability is a myth because this "unreliable" car has been the most reliable thing I've ever owned

I think you echoing the sentiment might be the best argument I could have made

-It is overpriced because it's a jeep

And reliability is a myth it's dependent on a vehicles condition not age or mileage or brand unless its alpha Romeo or VW/audi

My main concern is it's a California emissions car so what unobtainable surprise special parts am I going to encounter in the future

Like for example my camrys... California emissions cars got different iac valves that were unobtainium

My son drove home a Gladiator from his work assignment in Michigan this weekend. I took a look to see what all the fuss was about this vehicle. I can say with all certainty that my 22yo LC is on a completely different quality scale. This is one of the most poorly constructed vehicles that I've ever driven. Hell, a FIAT 850 had a higher-quality feel and those were known pieces of shit.

Look at how the body panels are bolted in. The rental car agency taped in the windshield. It reminds me of a car made in East Germany named Trabant.

Speaking of reliability I got to work on a 30-year-old version of one of Japan's least reliable designs...
