That I understand due the cali laws concerning AR’s. I 1000% disagree with almost all the Cali gun laws but that one I understand where it’s coming from. Don’t agree but I understand. But I am not aware of any laws state or federal disallowing passing guns to others unless they are felons. Especially not being able to pass older and collectible guns.

I think a law prohibiting the passing down of a gun through the family is unenforceable. Who is going to know?

Can’t do it. Here’s what part of the Cali says
Generally, no assault weapon may be sold or transferred to anyone within California other than to a licensed gun dealer or to a police or sheriff's department.

I'd get to know someone with a gun dealer license and get him to make the transfer of ownership legally... and then "borrow" the gun until I kick the bucket.

Turned out to be a banner day. Running errands and stopped at my local Ace hardware store for paint and they were grilling burgers and hotdogs. When I got home my wife asked what took me so long and I told her that’s just how long it takes. That’s true if you factor in time spent milling around Ace Hardware eating free food but she doesn’t need to know that part.

Cali even thought of that, another part of the gun laws state - An individual who is 18 years of age or older can loan a firearm to another person who is 18 years of age or older without going through a licensed firearms dealer provided the following conditions are met: The person loaning the firearm is at all times within the presence of the person being loaned the firearm.

It is not easy being a gun owner here.

A man cannot just run into a hardware store or a sporting goods store and come out quickly. You just have to check stuff out. It takes anywhere from 20 minute# to a couple hours. It’s a guy thing, it’s kind of in our dna.

    “Shall not be infringed”.

Why is it that most Americans are so completely brain dead that they don’t even have the slightest comprehension what the word “infringed” means?

He was talking about what Commierado has proposed to do. I don't doubt there would be challenges if it were passed.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

I may rankle egos here but some of the discussions are getting into the dangerous zone. I'd hate to see anyone get a 30 day timeout.

On the generator. Ice is real bad. Going to be out for a long time. Wanted to wait for a few more hours before I went out but 58° in the house was cold enough. Had to use hot water toget into the gen box and house plug. Happy day.

I agree with Mark. Let’s cool the topics being thrown around.

Finally got a call back from a gutter screen installer... too little, too late... so no deal. Made a decision to just do it myself. It isn't rocket science, and it won't be a hurry-up. I foresee crap sticking to the screens, so I'll do one 20' gutter close to a beech tree, see what happens, then do the rest or not. I'll have an answer by Christmas.

Edit: Storms last few days left my test screen inundated with tree trash. I'll remove it, continue blowing out the gutters as needed. My suspicions were correct.

    Good Morning :hattip:

Yesterday i watched the Craftsman truck race and the Xfinity race at the COTA . Both of these races were exciting to watch and can't believe how many cars were torn up

Then later on watched qualifying from the NHRA Winternationals . Also noticed that another well known driver is stepping out of competition . Top Fuel driver Mike Salinas has put his daughter in the Scrappers TFD
