surely someone knows a better material to not break. Whether that be a plastics shop, materials science engineer, or someone on here.

one material is large rubber mud flaps cut to shape,
but it tends to be too thick, too heavy, for this purpose
as well as flexible to the point of sagging under it's one weight that would need way too many fasteners to secure it and still likely sag, versus something more solid that holds its shape better

noeprene from a hardware store used for drawer liners
or actual drawer liners, would both probably be too thin and easy to tear

at least now you have a shape template which might be the hardest part

I made inner liners (the ones by where the exhaust manifold is) from toolbox drawer liner and they've already started ripping, though I was too rough removing one to work on the truck so it's probably my fault.

I had someone suggest kydex, but I have the feeling it'll end much the same. When I was at the plastics shop where I buy the ABS, they didn't have any other suggestions when I explained what I was using it for, but they also looked at me like I had an ear on my forehead.

I would be grateful for any suggestions out there from the Tacomaworld brain trust. I'm on a fender liner thread, and that's where the kydex suggestion came from. They hadn't used it for this application though.

Looking at the C4 design, I think it would be easy enough to replicate using aluminum. I'd make them 2 peice with only a few bends. I'd put foam on the edges to fill any gaps, and L-brackets to mount.

Changed intake and cabin air filters. Also replaced the pcv valve and hose. The hose was beginning to crack on the ends and was quite brittle. The original valve was a little crusty and just a tad sticky but it did still work at 101k miles.

I retired from the Department of Defense. We literally had people that slept at their desk in my office. Had some that ran their side business from their desk. I would work 3 vendor contracts per day while some milked out 3 days on a single contract. Management said they had different expectations of different employees of the same pay grade. They said it was our job to make them work. That is pure Federal BS. Having spent over 13 years in private industry management jobs, as well as another 29 years as a machinist and inspector, I hated seeing thieves stealing their pay from my, and your, tax dollars. When I ran a shop crew in the DoD machine shop they would ask me to come in Saturdays, do 3 hours of work, and send me home with 12 hours of overtime pay. I wouldn't put too much thought on 1 guy that is killing time while awaiting work. That is not that big of a deal. By the way one of those sleepers in my DoD office has been promoted 3 times since I retired. He was twice kicked back to that office job while he still received the pay of his promoted positions. Government waste exists in a much larger scale than 1 guy working on his truck. Worry about yourself, as I always did, and work as you would expect others to work. I retired knowing that I had a solid work ethic and contributed 100% to the greater good. If you go through life worrying about everyone else you will just be a miserable person in the end.

replaced my HVAC Fan Blower Motor Resistor for the 3rd time now, but i realized how burnt the connection to the climate control panel was, so i replaced that as well, along with a new connector. I hope that resolves the issue.

The husky liners are a great fit within the floor pans. Molded really well. Easy to take out to clean and catch pretty much everything that falls off my boots when I get in the truck.

Had Husky liners in 4 Tacomas and 2 F150 trucks. That is the only brand I buy. Pictured in my 2016 and 2008.

@Kolter45 that looks like a pretty good deal. I paid close to the same and didn’t get the rear liner…

It is everywhere that you will ever work. Problem in the government is they don't fire people that should be fired. They promote them. Whether it is the bosses lame son, or the stupid cousin, or the guy that puts out 25%, it is a fact of life. If you are a good worker then you just turn away, like me, and give them a solid days work for an honest days pay. Even someone like yourself, working as a fry cook at McDonalds, I bet there are people around you that half-azz work. If you are not a fry cook then keep working hard and one day you will be one.
