Blue is interesting. I was thinking grey? I don't think I'm skilled enough to paint like a rainbow or brown, but my wife is, maybe I can talk here into that.

What color is your truck? Gray would be nice. A faux finish trout is actually pretty easy. You already did the hard part by building that awesome rod holder

Sage grey, might as well use a color that already looks faded.

Appreciate that. I don't think Id say best ever. There still are a lot of flaws on the second version of this.

I got two things, one i love this design. Two if i can slightly hijack the thread to ask you about your homemade water tank, how were you able to get the system to seal and pressure up? I just recently built one and it works but i can't get the male threads to mate well enough with my female cap on the filler port, so it just leaks down immediately! Any tips would be great, have yet to try teflon tape but that seems annoying to have to redo each time i want to fill up the tank.

Low pressure about 20 psi is good for my needs. Pressure gauge and pressure relief as a safety precaution as some most will suggest to not pressurize pvc. You can read about it here...

I would put some foam between the reels, just to make sure they don't rattle against each other. Great project.

You know, now that you have painted grey, the rod carrier looks a little like a recoilless rifle.....don't go fishing in the middle east.

Noted. Its been less then 24 hours and I've had some interesting looks, one photo snap at a red light, and one double take from a police officer.
