That makes sense. I don't think I ever watched it all the way through.

100% agree with this. Whenever we go to the beach down there we head to Del Mar. It's a little farther but worth it.
Plus there is a Pizza Port, good bear and great pizza.

That's awesome. That's a lot of money saved. What size is Theo in now? Olivia is about to size up to 4s.

    4 as well

He's gaining weight consistently, but not really looking "chunky" just stretching longer

Photographer had sent us one of his pics yesterday; the rest will be done in another week

Speaking of, since Theo's birthday is coming up that means Olivia's is right around the corner!

Our freaking kids are growing up too fast

That's pretty cool. Are you doing a "Wild 1" thiam for his birthday? We are taking Olivia to "snowboard" on her birthday and are going to have a party on Sunday the 14th. If you guys can make it to Tahoe that weekend your more than welcome to come up.

Its crazy it how fast the 1st year has gone.

His whole bedroom is animal-themed, and for his birthday we're taking him to the Zoo so that goes hand in hand with it

We were gonna do a birthday party but kind of decided against it; we're still having one but it'll be small with close family and mainly because

    1. he ain't gonna remember

    2. last birthday party we went for a 1 year old was really just a bunch of 'family' that hung around, ate food, and left

Nothing really surrounding the little one by itself, although maybe the people hosting it were more to blame idk

Snowboarding is definitely gonna be fun for her; hoping Theo gets a kick out of seeing all the different animals when we go

I'll have him in a baby carrier instead of a stroller so he can see everything

He's going to love the zoo! We are planing to go to the San Diego zoo in June with the in-laws when we head down. I agree with you the carrier is so much better than the stroller. I'v used it a few times and you end up taking less stuff.

Bad news for the truck - alignment shop said it needs at least one new LCA/lower ball joint, new rack and pinion, and a new u joint on the rear driveshaft. I’m skeptical of the LBJ being bad since they were replaced with new OEM units only 20,000 miles ago. They said they just moved the tire up and down to determine it was bad. In any case it doesn’t sound cheap.

I blame at least in part the overly stiff coils installed by the PO for the obligatory 3” lift. My old Tacoma actually drove and performed better with the stock setup. Most of us aren’t gonna outsmart Toyota engineers.

    So...basic maintenance.

You already knew about the rack.

You could ignore the LBJ recommendation since you put new ones in recently.

And new LCA because it's less labor (not difficult at all) to just replace an LCA.

Sounds like basic, high mileage stuff.

I wasn’t sure if they meant the LCA bushings were bad, since I don’t see how the LCA itself could be bad unless it was bent or cracked. I thought you needed a crowbar to see if the LBJ is actually bad on these trucks. The wheel moving could just be bad bushings maybe.

Also just because it’s maintenance doesn’t mean it’s gonna be cheap. So there’s the dilemma of putting $2500 or so into a $5000 vehicle.

Not to sound like a jerk, but I'm genuinely surprised in all of your reading and paranoia, you haven't seen LCA's being replaced in lieu of simply pressing out the bushings and putting new ones in

From a financial standpoint, the OEM bushing sets are a little up there in price

And depending where the vehicle came from, would mean it'll take a bit of work to remove the factory bushings

Then, there are many others that just use the bottle jack method of pushing our own bushings out and installing new Whitelines (I went this route for my rig)

Just stating it's basic stuff whereas you labeled it "bad news for the truck"
