Not sure if I’m at the proper temperature or what.. I did a trans fluid flush this past weekend and am having some drops leaking from the overflow plug. When I try to go into at temp check mode, the light is staying on when I go into park. Am I doing something wrong or is it possible I’m already at temp? I had started the truck a few times prior to this but it had been sitting for about 2.5 hours

What’s the outside temp when you’re doing this? If it’s warm out you can get to temp quickly. I don’t know how long it takes to cool back below temp but I’d think 2.5 hours would be plenty.

Check temperature is 95-115F so you will likely need to let it sit longer or overnight to get it in range depending on ambient temp.

Might need to put a bit of thread sealer on the check plug.

35 degrees right now. It was sitting for far less time when I did my flush and I wasn’t having this issue. I did have to start the truck multiple times because I was having a little trouble connecting w the OBD this time. Not sure if that fired it up to temp that fast or what. Typically I’m waiting like 15-20 min

Gotcha I’ll give it a shot early tm morning. I did mistakenly overtighten it before I emptied the overflow when I did the flush so I was gonna try to just change the crush washer. Could it also just be an overfill?

No it should be sealed, even if the trans is overfilled the plugs shouldn't leak.

I’m very surprised that your tranny wouldn’t be back to ambient temp after 2.5 hours at 35 degrees, but yeah try again another day starting from cold and see what happens.
