Making sure I got everything I need for my lift

Done decided to go with the 5100's for my tacoma. I got rear aal, going to get the front shock replacement bushings and washer kit for the front shocks for 5100's. Do I need front diff drop kit and the brake proportioning valve bracket? When I get the 5100's and they not set on 2.5 inch in the front, can I set them on 2.5 inch in the front myself if so, how can I adjust them to that height?

 

Do you have a 4x4 or prerunner? Won't need a diff drop unless you have 4x4.

The shocks will come disassembled and you can set them to any height you like. you will need a spring compressor to put them together though....

 

Got 95.5 toyota tacoma sr5 v6 4x4 but read on here some people did just fine with out the diff drop and dont need it just for 2.5 inches of lift. But do i need the brake portioning valve bracket from toytec.

 

Never heard of a brake bracket.....The diff drop is cheap and it actually helps your angles on a first gen.

they are useless on 2nd gens, that's probably what you were seeing when people said not to get one.

 

A lot of first gens swear the diff drop isn't needed. Personally, I'm going to get one. Might as well nip it in the butt and not have to deal with it later.

 

Before I thought about getting 5100's I was looking at the 2.5 inch toytec spacer lift and it said it came with
Brake Proportioning Valve Bracket- Needed to gain the correct brake proportioning back to the rear when lifting your rear suspension. Acted like I needed it.
I looked at the 5100's and didnt say nothing about that I needed it. But Im going to get it any way

i dont know what the break valve bracket is...but maybe an extended brake line??

 

Even then, you can get away with 2.5 inches of lift with the stock break lines.

But yet again.. I chose to nip it and purchased stainless steel threaded lines 2.75 inches longer than stock.
