Any of y'all have a recommendation on countersunk bits specifically for steel/stainless?

They'll have to be cobalt, as they're much harder and meant for steel.

Just wondering if anyone has found a 'favorite' that last for quite a bit.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Go to a place that sells machine tools and get a carbide countersink. It'll hurt the wallet but it'll last a lot longer than a Cobalt one. And no matter what you get don't spin it too fast, that's how people wear them out, metal doesn't cut like wood. Well I suppose aluminum kind of does

    Carbide, forgot about all those

I only mentioned cobalt in the event that someone mentioned titanium

Yeah I've got it spinning slow for everything on my press since all I do is metal

Does anyone know what that vacuum switch thing is on the back of the upper intake plenum on the drivers side (3.4)? It takes a vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator on one side. It has an electrical connection as well.

Ive misplaced the vacuum hoses that I took off it, it’s not included in my hoods vacuum diagram and I can’t find pictures of it anywhere :annoyed:

Pretty sure the other side its one hose off the switch thing and it splits into two connections on the plenum. I know i remember taking it off but I can’t remember exactly what it looks like to get a replacement..

All in all for a cylinder head replacement by a novice like me and I only lost 1 nut and these hoses, with no extra bolts so I’d call it a win. Hopefully I can find the right hoses and the truck starts tomorrow.

If your 1999 model entered the port of Houston, the central US distributor named Gulf States Toyota installed AudioVox security systems. If that system fails, it will need to be taken to an auto alarm company that can remove it. Search Tacoma World for the "Gulf States Toyota" alarm system.

See the following thread for information links on removing or resetting the Gulf States Toyota system.
