I was working at a Chevrolet dealership when they sold those little LUV trucks for Isuzu. Biggest pieces of junk pretty much. They were rusting before they got them off the car haulers and the motors began smoking at 60K. I drove a lot of them and they were a nice driving truck while they stayed together. I saw an orange one recently running a 350 in it.

Also had the day off and had to go to Akron. I hit a Walmart, Acme and 7 Dollar stores. Thought I hit gold at the Walmart when I found 3 dump bins over flowing and the display rack full. Acme was well stocked as well. Total scores? O This is pathetic.
I saw a lot of new releases but the bins were picked in the stockroom before they were filled on the floor. Even though I am specific in what I collect I could still see the "good stuff" was already removed.

We have the Power Piston Show coming up next weekend in Cleveland. Winter is over! (maybe).

 

These are Hot Wheels Gasser's 37 Fords. I tried a variety of things with these but not really a fan. The Mr Gasket car had the front end lifted higher when I attempted to melt an axle into the bottom of the chassis. Had the great idea of cutting a trough for the axle to set into and then melt plastic to secure in place. It worked but not happy with appearance. I post everything I do good or bad. Maybe will save someone else the trouble.

 

Good Monday y’all. So my lady and I started packing up the casa for our move we have this coming mid April. Once we started getting things separated in “goodwill, keep and throw out” piles. We started to clean drawers out we haven’t gone through in years. At the bottom of one of these drawers I was stopped in my tracks with a surprise I had stumbled upon. It must have been easily 5+ years since we’ve even looked in this drawer. I was greeted by the sight of 4 old school Hot Wheels 57 bel airs still in their cards. I have no idea on when or how I obtained these or how they ended up in this drawer. I took it as a sign we are doing the right things and in the right place of life! Figured I’d share with y’all. Cards are in no where near great condition but they arnt in the worst condition either. The last 57 is literally one of my favorites that I remember playing with as a child, how I have a sealed one and didn’t know about it is beyond me lol.

Had to take my father in for a planned surgery, very early in the morning, in a town that i sometimes travel to for good hot wheels finds. Figured i’d have just enough time during the procedure to go to the walmart, take a nice walk to clear my head and look for hot wheels.

I passed on the cayman because i have it in white, i passed on the corvair and the van as well.

Good Tuesday y’all. Found some time to tear into my first HW wheel swap and a little extra touches. I was able to get the casting apart with no issues at all. I decided to go for a beat up, drive it like you stole it type of look. Just having fun messing with the looks. Pretty stoked to get my pikes peak project started here soon. Beautiful morning here in South Texas. About to go walk the pups and get started on the taco. Much peace everyone

 

I saw this set...minus the Nissans... but hey.. there's 17 Corvairs left and a couple of vans and a few Porsches.

 

Ok... I picked up one of the Porsches.. and a few M2 Trucks.
