Got in a relatively minor t-bone accident in the Tacoma a few weeks back..

So I did the only logical thing and went for the proper 5.7L V8 upgrade to it today…

Don’t know about “real boy”, maybe “broke boy “ with the gas prices. Good luck on the trails with the jumbo jet. :boink:

Congrats on your new rig!

Honestly, both get about 14 MPG with how I drive…atleast the Tundra has a 38 gallon fuel tank!

Granted, the 35s going on tomorrow will likely kill that 14 MPG figure..

I like it a lot. I want a single cab Tundra with the 5.7l

Too bad they don’t put one in the Taco

Yes, it’s never ending out there. Ever since installing my dash cam a couple of months ago I could download and catalogue stupid driving clips daily.

I feel your leg pain. Three months after buying my OR I broke my leg showing my grandkids how to walk across slipper wet rocks. Couldn’t drive for 10 weeks. Did a lot of buying of mods and planning, and now I’m busy for a while. Good luck with yours and hope the leg heals fast.

Just get the spotters, I personally think their mirrors are more useful. The location of them is better than the OEM RAV4 ones and you can angle them pretty well to help you see a trailer while also retaining your normal mirror placement (the spotter mini mirror also moves/adjusts). Spotters are also heated so if you've got OEM BSM, you can retain all OEM functionality with the spotter mirrors.

Went to my local YMCA and came out seeing this beautiful white tacoma parked next to me, trd pro wheels and 265/70r17 Falken AT3W SL tires.

Being recently converted from a Tundra to tacoma, I'd say the tundra gets 14mpg on a good day on highway and tacoma gets 15.5mpg on a bad day all city driving. I do miss my Tundra's 38 gallon gas tank tho.

Yeah, its a drag, but life goes on and I am fortunate to have found another AC tacoma.

On another note, I have to say the paint on the 2023 sucks. Easily damaged by bird crap and what not. I really wish the manufacturers could go back to the better quality paints...

I would agree, after installing the Rav4 mirrors, I can't say that I am a huge fan of them so far. The mirror seems more flat and the angle of "blind spot" mirror is not where I would want it positioned personally. I wish I would have done more research.

I too had a Tundra which I really liked….but MPG, smaller for tight places, and current technology, smaller footprint in our garage nudged me to make the switch. (I realize I could have got current technology with a new Tundra)

100%. I switched from a 2020 Tundra with apple car play (45k miles) to a 2021 Tacoma (27k miles). To me their tech level are about the same, and its mainly just the size difference. I used to need a lot of 2nd row space when my son needs a rear facing car seat, and now I don't. especially since I hurt my back and the Tundra (modified with suspension lift and 37in tires) just seemed to be out of my league for my changed health condition. I also like how the Tacoma's smaller size force me to organize and prioritize better in terms of what to bring and what not to bring.

What skid did you go with? Lostar or Kuafu?

From what I can tell, around here folks have less trouble with the Lostar

I have some spotters, It took a minute to get used to the mirrors for me. The position of the wide angle is nice. Proper aiming is a must.
I think one advantage of the rav4 mirror is the wide angle lens is heated.
