i put the bottom as high as possible to get my legs in a more natural sitting posture and the seat up at almost 90 degrees, with knees pointed out. a bit unconventional but its the most comfortable for me in one of these. in any other car i'd be back and low, lol

Watching that comparo video, I prefer the Taco, but man there are things I just hate that Toyota did. The whole backseat area seems to have been mailed in on the Taco, points to Nissan for having an arm rest at least I guess. And Toyota deciding that Molle panels were going to be an overwhelming design aspect of the interior is just shameful.

An old Titan would absolutely destroy a Gen 3 Tacoma in a more serious accident.

It looks like the Tacoma got ahold of that Titan's front wheel as it was turned out.

In 2022 I narrowed my choices to the Tacoma and the new Frontier with the thought of keeping the vehicle a long time (maybe 10+ years). The Tacoma won out mainly for the known reliability and the price but overall, I liked the Frontier better in most categories. Especially the interior and seats. The main issue I had with it though was the new V6 in it. Even though it came out in 2020 (I think), being direct injected only was a concern for possible long-term carbon buildup issues. The other was because the new model had just been released so markups down here were insane.

DI is a concern of mine as well. From the Internet it looks to be a reasonable repair or maintenance item cost wise though. Is a drag though.

Ive adjusted my seat many times. I definitely have the ass part lower and the front as high as possible. I feel like the seat shouldnt be so short, but I can see where making it longer could cause issues for many. Im gonna take the ass up to match tomorrow. The one thing about the truck is how the cab is higher and the legs have to be more stretched out to match.

How far back do you keep your' seat?

Way worse emissions with the Frontier. Some teens might slash your tires for that.

i keep it front as possible. if i sit too far back and low, the visibility gets too awful and the feet get closer to level with my waist which is super awkward.

I think there is a lot more to it than just overall height. I think your body shape has more to do with it; like long or short torso and long or short legs. I am one who is 6' even and really wanted a Tacoma, but could not find a comfortable driving position. That can affect where the front edge of the seat hits your legs and how that leverage affects how the rest of your leg position rests on the floor. Your torso length affects where you set the back of the seat so you can still see over the hood. Put all that stuff together, and maybe you can see what I'm talking about.

Yeh. I mean these trucks in general have a different seating than most. You're laying your legs in front of you instead of underneath you.

Thats exactly it. Im not a tall guy at all, but it feels like the seat (bottom) itself is just a bit too short. Ive remedied it a good bit with seating position. But I guess where my leg comes off the seat leads to some kind of tension from my planted foot.

I was actually a bit surprised that my “premium and tech” package taco did not come with a rear seat arm rest.

Maybe I’m a bit strange but I prefer to sit like that. I used to drive Chevy express at my old work and I did not like the seating position.

I have no idea why it wasn't added to the 4th gen. That and lack of real rear vents, not the under the seat on the floor garbage, weren't added either. Especially since they killed the AC forcing everyone to a DC if they have more than 1 passenger.

    Yeah that’s a bit lame.

But hey, at least you get that fancy multi link rear suspension :)
