Currently fixing an intake leak on my 2002 2.7, as I was putting everything back together I noticed this bracket was not attached at the lower end.

My guess is the leak happened due to excessive vibration.

Does anyone have a picture of this bracket attached at the bottom? Does it mount to the engine mount of further in?

Sorta hard to get a pic of. Bottom of brace bolts to motor mount bracket, backside of it/firewall side. Square nut welded to that bracket.

Top bolts to middle of intake plenum.

Think the end with the more pronounced bend goes to bottom.

That bracket is so important.....that they didnt even use them on 2rz's.

Which is essentially the same top end, with a bigger block.

And doesn't do much.....it just rests on that peg.

Thanks guys, I went ahead and installed it like shown above.

I want to rule out all possibilities of a leak. Currently chasing a p0171 so everything has to be double checked and set.

Oohhh injector cup is a new one!
I’m gonna test the fuel rail and pressure next. Then go from there. After redoing the intake I can at least remove that from the list of maintenance/issues

I don’t think my 99 3RZ has that bracket. Maybe they were added in 01?
