What's the craziest/most interesting/unique item you've ever hauled or towed with your Taco?

And this front-load washing machine added another $19 to my earnings for today; I found it on Facebook, and the guy getting rid of it even helped me load it! Apparently it did work, but not very well. It was supposedly 15 years old, which is pretty impressive for a front loader in my opinion...

I scored all of this stuff over the weekend and scrapped it this morning (the storage bin is for Amanda and was not scrapped)...

 

Today's scrap; I am never taking another water softener, and I think the other thing is a smoker...

 

The 2001 Whirlpool side-by-side ended up being past its prime, so it's going to appliance heaven tomorrow...

If I could get my hands on at least five central A/C units per week, do a little bit of DoorDash on weekends, and go back to working part-time at NAVMAR, I would be satisfied...

Just picked up the rest of the loveseat, and amazingly it fit with the tailgate up!

 

i never really considered scrapping to be crazy/unique uses of a truck.. scrapping is mostly a great way to earn a little extra spending cash. though i'd be lying if i said it was only ever extra cash.. sometimes it's the difference between making bills and getting angry letters.


last week i learned i can't hide tires in the scrap pile anymore. 4 wheels/tires came home with me later. i tried saving that tool box, but them side panels were rotted, every drawer had some sort of oily corrosive liquid spilled in it, and 2 drawers were bent enough to no longer stay on the slides.



for the first time though, i ended up paying the scrapyard $40 that trip. i made $59, but it cost me $90 in pulling some useful scrap out of the pile to take home for my trailer project.

i usually find enough stuff every few months to make a trip. it usually at least covers my gas for a week and a few meals. not life-changing, but sure is nice every once in a while.

 

This yard decoration was sitting in Helen's yard for years, and she's selling the house, so they're mine!

After today's experience, I will never again take another oil furnace that has to be dismantled in order to move it!
