I just put the moog ones in as is. But I'm a big fan of rubber bushings, they're a lot quieter and less harsh. Not necessarily in this application but they also usually flex better in leaf spring positions. When these mood bushings were out I'll just press in something else. I already own a press so I have no reason to buy the OEM ones. Pretty sure I only paid like $125 for both of these arms together, can't go wrong there even if the bushings in them do end up wearing out in 2 years which so far hasn't happened, we're on year three

That’s probably what I’ll do then. Keep things simple.

one other question - is it recommended to order new OEM ps hoses when replacing the rack? I’ve seen a lot of cases where the next weakest link fails when replacing a leaking/worn out part.

I mean the return hose is literally just a chunk of off-the-roll transmission hose that you can cut to the right length. I might change that cuz I've seen them leak before. The pressure hose pretty much never fails because it's so heavily jacketed and it's run at pretty low pressures on these trucks.

Man I was feeling way better yesterday then got a high fever attack middle of last night, the fuck is this shit...gonna swing over to urgent care to make sure it's not an infection I guess. Covid tests all negative.

Btw @CS_AR I just read this morning that they think almost 90% of the US where the eclipse path will be is gonna be covered in clouds and rain/storms. Sucks for all those millions of tourists lol.

At the same time, sometimes I think it’s better to stick with the devil you know. There’s not guarantee my next jalopy will be any better. Maybe it’s time for a scooter.

I’m never getting one sight unseen again. IDC if they have a stack of receipts or how many pretty photos they have. You never really know until you drive it, and ideally hook up a scan tool to make sure it doesn’t overheat on the highway.

To be fair, you shouldn't have done that if you're not mechanically inclined or lack the disposable income to throw at it

I’ll be charitable to the PO and say a lot of the issues it had were from sitting so long, then being driven a lot.

I just made an appointment to get the u joint changed tomorrow. It didn’t seem like a terrible DIY job, but this is something that just has to get done without any procrastination. That driveshaft could come flying off at any minute, and all the vibration can’t be good for the transfer case either.

Yea I can live with 300 bucks. I’m getting a quote worked up for the rack/LCAs/UBJs etc. I might have to take out a small personal loan for that, which could help me build credit at the same time.
