I was looking for some front fender, trim, molding, and Toyota parts deal as always had everything I needed for my old first GEN Tacoma. The fender trim was $118 apiece which is fine but look at that shipping $313 to ship them. Usually they’ve been pretty good on shipping. Has anybody else seen shipping like thisIMG_2719.png

I was going to tomorrow, the things weigh like 1 pound each. I found a front ones off of parts geek for $29 each. They don’t have any of the back ones though the Toyota dealer has for 168 each

I just tried to order parts from parts deal and Orishman Toyota. I bought parts just two months ago and the shipping went up quadruple. For the two plastic clips that hold in the parking lights. One wanted 29.99 and one wanted 39.99. The shipping was more than the parts. I ended up finding them at a dealer near me and the shipping was 5.99. Still ridiculous. I think they do it to get money from the shipping as well. They sent those two little clips in a box that could have held 150-200 of them. Way too big!

Toyota parts is being really shady with shipping.

I tried buying a crossmember, which would typically ship at 150, only for them to try to charge 400$ for shipping.

They ship out of El Monte,Ca. Which is right down the street from Longo Toyota. So buying there is a better bet.

Yea I kinda feel like ToyotaPartsDeal is falling off. They used to pretty much be my go-to for parts, because I live in AZ, and I could get parts at nearly the best prices available in a matter of 2-4 days.

Last order of one bump stop for my Tundra took like 2 weeks. They listed it as in stock, but then clearly had to order it in, then ship it to me (they emailed me saying as such).

Partsouq will now be my go-to for OEM parts

They are telling you right in the product description why shipping is that much. Freight costs a lot more than standard shipping methods. It's not TPD being shady or falling off, you just have a different expectation of how they were going to ship them. Also, in terms of shipping, there is a cross over where price is based on package volume, not weight, and a limit on what volumes can be picked up by the standard delivery trucks vs the freight trucks. So those fenders might only weigh 3 lbs each, but the box they come in probably exceeds the volume cross over.

TPD is a great resource when you have the proper expectation- for me, I know I can order from TPD when I am ordering many parts and give myself ample lead time. If I need something in a hurry, or just one or two things, it's always going to be cheaper to order the part from a local dealer (via their online portal) and pick up in person. The part itself will probably be more expensive at the dealer portal, but TPD is more expensive overall when you include shipping.

Those things weigh like .8 pounds and are so fragile you throw them on a LTL load they will be history. No way would they book a LTL load for them. I don’t need them asap either

... Exactly- I am sure the packaging reflects this and accounts for the volume increase.
