Sudbury, Timmins Area Run, June 30 to July7 I'm organizing a 5 to 7 day Swisha type run between Sudbury and Timmins. I have a route that will get into some pretty remote areas. Great for someone that likes to explore new areas.

 

The Dunes!!!...I will anchor down some dates ...It'll be in early August.

Would stock ish trucks (like mine) get mangled on these runs?

 

Your truck would be just fine for these runs.

I have no idea what this is. I mean, I can see that it's a Toyota Chaser but I've never seen one before. I'm assuming RHD

I hooked into the receiver hitch and lifted from above, just had to be tall enough to clear the tailgate. I was able to adjust the angle by moving the strap along the top rail.

 

Cool. I don't have an engine hoist or welding provisions, but had a bunch of scrap wood around. All it costed me was a $20 box of deck screws. The drawback is the platform is very bulky to store.

 

Well I pulled the trigger on a set of 255/85R16LT Falken Wildpeak AT4Ws. Apparently theres a nationwide backorder in canada and the US (Probably because of TW) for this size as they only started production of the AT4W (in this size) last month.
Blackcircles.ca Supposedly said "IN STOCK" so i said what the hell and pulled out the Visa. ~$1500 CAD shipped to my door for the set. Curious to see if they actually have them or if was only the computer saying so. Will Update with pics when i get them.

Also mispoke peviously. my rims are 16x8 -0mm offset not 8.5

 

When 4wp was around, all "in stock" meant was that they'd actually be able to order them at some point. I ordered "in stock" tires and it took weeks. Not sure they knew what the words meant. Best of luck.

Now it says "low stock" and you can order only 2 (not a set of 4). So I'm inclined to believe their stock status is accurate.

My buddy came over today wtih his 265/75/16 K02s and he was rubbing the mudflaps on full lock. He has like -10 offset and the same spacer lift as me. Time will tell if i can keep the mudflap. I do like the look of them.

 

My front mud flaps head to come off with 255s. But then rear broke on the trails anyway

 

So it will be done i suppose!

 

Here is one I wonder about....seeing as most of the Port of Baltimore is shut down, does it affect Canada's delivery of Tacomas?
I have heard it directly affects the Eastern Seaboard states, obviously, but I wonder if it also impacts our Atlantic Provinces? Or that of Ontario?

 

Like anything, it will probably have a ripple effect on the whole industry. I do know from working at Toyota years ago, that most of SW Ontario's vehicle imports come by rail from North american factories. Cars that are most be likely to be affected most are European made cars and SUVs. (Short BMW/Audi stock now).

Cars made in japan (4runner , prius, venza ect) all seem to land on the west coast. this presumably saves the Car hauler ships from crossing through panama. Then sent Via union pacific across the continent.

FASCINATING. @Snail81 Husky no long sells the long john mud flaps.

Shootdux, i was going to recommend Husky liner Long John mud mats as they've help up really well for the last year. it's basically a 1/8" flat plastic guard you tap into place yourself. but they no longer make them apparently lol

Alternatively can get Rokblokz XL, much more expensive though.
