I’m selling my buddies chain saw for him, guy messaged me last night and made me an offer. I said if you’re serious I’ll take that. He sent me this and said I am

Cole said can I try to press that bushing in? I said sure

    It’s a .004” press fit, bronze into steel :D

Customer wanted me to bore this piece out and press this bushing in, I said it’s already too thin. He said can you make one?

At the way back job I worked with a fellow about 6'2" but only 140 pounds.
I walked up one day to find him swinging on a pipe wrench in mid air.

    1000_F_63981470_fliYVeJrvBneLnGtSjf3lio6SZW87cmd.jpg

Well, I had over 100 pounds on him and just reached up and pulled on the wrench with one hand loosening the fitting.

To his advantage (and mine) he could fit in the most miserable small spaces that I didn't stand a chance of fitting. :D

Is the labor for future repairs lifetime warranty? Also when the O'Rielly rack goes out, will they put in another O'Rielly rack or and OEM rack? Personally I would wait for an OEM rack or source one from a junk yard before I put a parts store rack in my truck. The install is to much work to trust that it won't have to come back out again in the near future.

I ended up calling Olathe Toyota (cause I'm impatient), they had them in stock and said he didn't know why my dealer said they were on backorder cause he had all kinds. So I ordered everything through them cheaper than my dealer would sell me just the rack.

just a parts warranty, I'd have to pay labor again, and they'd just slap another O'reilly rack in there.

what is normal clearance for a press fit? I never know if I'm doing it right on the 2 parts a year I make that need them. The last one I did was a tapered steel bearing race into aluminum and its .005, but I haven't tried to press it in yet.

I generally shoot for .001” press fit but my boring bar was bottomed out and I didn’t feel like switching setups since it was bronze and I knew it would fit.

Do you think that hole on the old part was bored so far off center on purpose?
