dpele's 2010 Tacoma DCSB TRD Off-Road

I grabbed the cutting boards from the dollar store. I'm happy they didn't snap when screwing them in.
I fastened them with some self tapping screws, even though I predrilled both holes lol
I used cardboard templates prior to cutting the boards up. I made sure to leave some extra room to go over the little lip of the door for the screws to bite into.

@Corny Taco I was thinking of just going over that sheet metal but maybe I'll use the cutting board there too.

I find the plastic door cover is pretty tight when reinstalling. Hopefully it doesn't pop out.

 

This was DRIVING ME CRAZY!!
And it was the easiest fix lol

 

if not then putting rivnuts but like you said, not if the higher torque on the screw allowed from that breaks the cutting board

possibly insulating the board first before poking holes for screws, that way it’s removable in the future for door access such as replacing window regulator

 

If I need to access the inside, I will cut along the edge of the boards and cut the screw heads out. Not different than installing the sound deadener.
I wanted to make sure all the holes and gaps were sealed.

 

Sunday's maintenance and upgrades:

• Oil change
• $35 Fumoto F-133: STANDARD VALVE WITH 12MM-1.25 THREADS WITH LEVER CLIP Gold
  Fumoto Valve install for easier oil changes
• Cut open the skid plate hole a little more for easier valve access
• Perry Parts front bump stops install

The truck is nasty dirty with all this super warm weather after all the snowfall.

 

have you squished the bumps yet to see how they do? I have been debating replacing mine but cant pick a brand I want to go with that also doesnt break the bank.

 

They are definitely softer than stock! I haven't hit anything hard enough to test them out lol

The Elka's are great so far. I've had their common problem with the spherical bearings, but the new ones are lasting longer. I haven't done a rebuild and I hope it stays that way. A rebuild is pretty much the same price of buying a new set of 2.0s.
