Got rear ended, pushed into the car infront of me. Minor front end damage, possible frame buckle from rear. Has magnussen Supercharger and a bunch of other goodies. the at fault guys insurance is obviously paying and has acknowledged all the aftermarket parts and obligations to cover them. 2023 Trail edition with just over 5k miles. Initial adjuster estimate, not totaled... but it's also wildly low at 9k so we shall see after the shoos estimate. Progressive also listed it as a basic SR5 on the estimate, I have told them it's an SR5 with the Trail Edition trim level which raises the value quite a bit.... they just give the standard "we will make a note" response.

If it's not totaled how much of a diminished value settlement should I go after? They've already paid me about 2.5k for some equipment that I had that was damaged, 9K for medical and will be covering repaid and aftermarket values (if it's not totaled) if it is totalled I'll go after the going rate for similar trucks being sold right now. For the trail I've seen 41-48k all with higher miles than mine. Then the supercharger and aftermarket parts on top of that which they acknowledged they will cover (since it's the at faults insurance they have to cover the aftermarket parts)

Anyone else been through similar? What was the result? Was it totaled, repaired, any issues after repairs etc?

What's your point? Looking for people with similar experiences. Not semantics. But honestly, you're wrong. The Tacoma is a model.... the SR5 Trail Edition/TRD etc are trim levels.

I'm not sure what state you are in but several still do not recognize "Diminished Value" which totally sucks. If it were me I would see what they offer and make your counter offer. If you are not satisfied with the final offer then contact an attorney as they will get you more than you can get on your own. One thing to keep in mind it that the attorney will probably take 1/3 of the total settlement.

Fortunately they have already acknowledged the future diminished value settlement, the amount is just TBD until the repairs are done or if it gets totaled afterall, it will be a mute point I guess.

Repairs are solely dependent on the shop doing them. Go to a good shop that values their work and hires/pays accordingly, there won’t be any issues.

Go to a shop that charges exorbitant prices and hires idiots that just know the basics and are only in business for the bottom line you get something totally different.

If they have already acknowledged everything and their insurance is stepping up I think you’ve already been given the big answers.

With progressive, you’ll need to get aggressive. Notoriously cheap

They stay in business by low balling 100% of claims....and then the majority just say "Oh, OK...."
