ROFL! I'll have to ask him, but he's asleep right now... :D He had a late night at work.

I know that he would still love me, but I doubt that he would want me to become a Lesbian for many and varied reasons! Would I have to move to the island of Lesbos? Or is this a Canadian-based religion? Too cold up there! There are just too many variables here!

Ok, I voted Atheist. But thats not really true. I do beleive there is something out there bigger than us. I think thats agnostic, but not sure. I just don't beleive that any religion hits the nail on the head. And if it comes close, man's flaws (greed, power, arogance, ignorance) gets in the way. Also, being in the military, going around the world, I have seen religion do a lot more damage than good. That being said. I do beleive that 90% of religions out there have good intentions. It's just that human beings F them up. And since there is always a human being as a "middle man" to any deity, I don't trust any of them. But..... If there is a goodly god out there, in any shape or form, I am his humble servant. I just haven't met him yet. I think growing up in Alaska, observing nature in it's rawest form, just sitting on the side of a mountain, watching the land and animals for hours at a time is probably the closest I have ever felt to any god. It's kind of sad that that is right before I shoot one of them.

Dont wake him as you may be faced with another episode of morning wood and with your questionable carpentry skills you'd be in a dilemma. You dont have to ask him nothing since you read what Jesus would have said. To answer your questions, you dont have to be a lesbian to join my faith. You have to just practice it now and then. See, we dont impose, twist peoples arms, fly air planes into buildings and we dont have to blow ourselves up in the name of god and we all go to heaven. Also, you dont have to move to Lesbos or to Canada. I'll email you all the paper work and soon we can start praying together . If you have any further question or desires about my religion, just PM or email me. I dont want to turn this thread into a recruiting site. Thank you for your interest Charli and feel free to share this information with your sister in Florida.

Without getting in to my own beliefs too much, I will argue with your point for the sake of content in the thread. I took a philosophy class in college and all these arguments were gone over in detail from both sides.

The reason God allows suffering is that without evil, the pure good of God can not be realized. It is similar to the reason that God does not just force us all to love him. Because unless we have the free will to decide to love him, everyone loving him is meaningless and is not a true representation of love.

I tend to read between the lines Charli so I dont always get the full message and at times it works to my advantage. ;)

im kind of hard to explain. i believe in satan. i believe in god. i believe heaven is the most boring place for me to go when i die. i think i would have more fun in hell. i believe in good moral character. i do not judge people. i believe people have flaws and should not try to deny them. i believe in the 10 commandments except for the murder one. i believe in emotions, and one must embrass love and hate. and i also believe there is a world behind what we call our reality.

i suspect that he may be alluding to capitol punishment or something to that effect...maybe suggesting that certain people in the shallow end of the gene pool deserve to be killed

If that's the case, I'm in full agreement.

I'm one of types who side with those (who've done research on the matter) that say the Bible was mis-translated over the years,(ever play the game "telephone"?), and the original context of that commandment was "thou shalt not murder", as in ruthless-type killing (say, in the name of a crime). I say this because killing is a given in this world, even from the Christian side (Crusades, anyone?). Murder is not.

    YMMV.

Wow 11 pages of a religion thread and it remained calm, civil and informative the entire time, I have to say that shows a lot for the members on this forum.

Just to add my 2 cents, I'm honestly surprised at the results for agnostic and atheist and the posts presented by those members. I have to agree with Piercedtiger and Tigerfan, great posts from the 2 of you. My Dad's side is Catholic, my Mom's beliefs were atheist. Neither side raised me a certain way and I was given free will to choose my beliefs. At a very young age I was turned off by religion being forced onto people and by not receiving answers to my questions from any religion who came to try to 'save' me. The religions/beliefs that appealed to me as a child were Buddhism and witchcraft types, I never took a following or studied any given religion so typically do not discuss/debate religion.
