They haven't in the Gulf States Region. We went from being historically the lowest prices to the highest. People that moved here were used to paying thousands more for vehicles. So the distributor and dealers jacked up the prices to make everyone feel right at home.

When I was at the dealer yesterday, I overheard someone talking about APRs close to 10%. Ho Le Fuk, is that where they are today?

For people with shitty credit, yeah. My CU offered me <6%, which isn’t terrible when their savings account is paying 5%

So do a lot of the other manufacturers, an easter egg that differetiates between the after market ones. They get glued on before they spray it.

I forgot to mention that I did notice that the turning radius is longer. I had forgotten about that and was not actively looking for it. It was apparent.

That's because the wheel base is longer....

But it is now more than a Frontier and we have ridiculed the Frontier for having the turning radius of a battleship here for years. What do we do now?

    Make excuses I guess.

Instead of the money they wasted developing that stupid speaker, they could have put a power sliding rear window as standard equipment.

They put effort into making the tailgate light as a feather. Then, they put a motor on it. Then they put not one, but multiple activation points and a motion sensor too:rolleyes:

Gen 5 Tacos will have further handicap equipment so people can continue to fake their handicap parking status. At some point, the corporate heads in Japan will have to step in somehow, some way?

I can see the L.A. guys with their hydraulics bouncing that ass to get the tailgate to close. Just because.

It has that much hyped solid state battery. Just a way for Toyota to show that it isn't just vaporware:rolleyes:

Thank you for sharing. I haven’t driven the 4th gen yet but sounds like the product we are getting doesn’t match the astronomical rise in price tags.

Sold my 2023 Tacoma yesterday and not seeing any exciting options currently.

Why did you sell it if there aren’t any exciting options?

It was an impulsive buy. Purchased it brand new for 42.5kish out the door (TRD Sport dual cab), only to be disappointed with the underpowered powertrain, less than impressive shifting, interior design/ seating, and a number of quality control issues such as having to slam the doors to close properly and a steering wheel that was not centered.

and even when driving it regularly I never seem to get Toyotas listed MPG.

It was fun driving it but it just was not as refined as one would expect from a Toyota product.

I really don’t see the need for a power tailgate. I’ve never had any issue opening or closing it with one hand. Adding just a soft open damper would be fine.

Gen4 would impress you with its driving characteristics and seating position, and might squeeze a couple more mpg’s. On the other side, to my eyes the QC stuff looks like carryover at best, and some of Toyota’s material choices are noticeably low rent, even in the Limited.

That’s a shame for the asking price but it seems like since 2016, the whole midsize class of trucks has settled into roughly the same accepted quality bandwidth. No real standouts, and I doubt broad turbo adoption will improve the overall quality image.

There are only two fundamental reasons why people chose mid-sized pickups over full-sized pickups:

    1. garageablity
    2. nimbleness

    There ain't a 3rd reason.

The longer turning radius was a mistake.
