I didn’t realize that had the amp on sale. I just ordered the amp and harness for mine so I could get the sale price. Now I have to wait for my taco to get out of the body shop. I just dropped it off this week. Two weeks after buying it someone hit me on my way to work. I’ve already replaced the oem speakers with kicker ks series speakers. This should really help those speakers out. The head unit isn’t quite powerful enough to handle those speakers.

How can you tell what the trailer/trailer brake is even doing, or what its set at? Absolutely no offence, but that seems like a highly illogical and inconvenient mounting spot.

Did you buy their harness too? https://www.crutchfield.com/p_541LPHTY02/PAC-LPHTY02-LocPro-Advanced-T-Harness.html

It was recommended for easier install but man I have no idea what any of that means

We tow our 2000 lb dry, 3000 to 3500 lb loaded square-drop with our Taco equipped with electric brakes.
Depending on the needs and terrain, i'm always looking at the controller. If the color gets really deep red, it can remind me that I may have it set a bit grabby...............really need that going through the mountains, but never on flat terrain. The dial also gets changed when we are on slippery or wet roads VS trails.
I really do have eyes on the dial a lot, and while Im not changing it every hour, the dial definitely gets adjusted a lot, because the braking needs change depending on what kind of trip we are on. I guess my point is not being able to even see what the dial is currently set at would be a huge hindrance to towing anything that did have electric brakes.

I did get the harness. I chatted with an employee online. Told him what I was wanting to do and what I had. He made up a cart with everything that I need. The amp, t harness, connectors and the wiring kit for power and ground. The t harness handles the signals from the head unit to the amp and then to the harness to send the signal to the speakers. The only thing that the t harness doesn’t handle is the power and ground to power the amp. They also sell the kit to do those two wires too.

In my rush I didn’t record the stock horns, so there is no comparison, sorry.

I use the controller from the same manufacturer as ssd2k2 does it appears, the RedArc Tow Pro.
It really does work really well. It changes color from a blue when not in use to light red when mild brake pressure is applied to a deep dark red when heavy brake pressure is applied. It's also super easy to glance at the dial to see how high it's set and and dial the pressure back if off road or on rainy or flat terrain.

Finally got a bag to hold my "floating" items in my truck.
It's a LAPoliceGear molle bag, the perfect size to hold my extra radio/radio accessories, extra work gloves, headlamp/spare battery.
Stuff that was just hanging out loose in the back seat storage bins.

Finally got around to running the coax from my Firestik II into the cab, terminating it and then tuned the antenna. Trying to use it on ham and CB so I tuned it for 28MHz. The two vertical dashed lines indicate CB Channel 1 to Channel 40.

Both lol, I tried it myself ($90 3M sheet off Amazon) and did pretty good but there were some wrinkles that my OCD could not take. So I did have a Pro do it for $350. Was worth the $90 gamble to see if I could pull it off myself. Less OCD and I would have left it but ya know..
