What a tough ass he is to survive that job in ‘Nam AND 14 kids! Sounds like an amazing man. If I’m not stepping on toes, it’s a time to celebrate his time here with those who love him. Best to you and your family.

    Welcome to @six5crèéd ’s thread.

    Good morning everyone :hattip:

I got up this morning, wife had made coffee. I looked outside and told her I’m so grateful I don’t have to go work in a store. This is the first Easter weekend I’ve actually had Friday and Saturday off in 14 years. On my days off from work I would work the store so she could have a break, even if it was sleeping in a little or just not being in the store.

I’m sitting at my desk in my shop, just got done reading my devotional and getting ready to tinker with a mower. Cole has baseball practice at 12, he’s going to a friends 30 minutes away this evening.

Even though we have to take him to those places, it’s so nice to be “normal”.

I have so much free time not having to work the store it’s amazing and I’m gone 10 hours a day Monday through Friday, 2 hours driving and 8 hours working.

I understand the paperwork after work, luckily my wife did that with our store.

People don’t realize what it takes to run a business, even if it’s small like ours was.

I can imagine that the paperwork for a store is more than I have.

Have a great day off work.

Our friends who sold their restaurant a couple of years ago would agree with you. They couldn't be happier with the decision

I don't know if you and your wife encountered this with the store but for them running a restaurant with the pandemic mandates was the last straw. Help was hard to find, customers always knew the 'good ole days' and were quick to shitpost reviews across the web.

New owers renovated the building to be stark and antiseptic. Same goes for the food.. Went once and we'll never return.

Yessir, when it comes to family owned businesses I’ve got a bag full of stories to tell. To outsiders it looked like a whole lotta pain for very little gain. But knowing those hard working dedicated people working long hours receiving little thanks & still be happy, smiling & always supporting. Your reward will be in a far better place & you are an inspiration. Many Thanks. :hattip:

Thanks, I think that was me. That frame looks pretty stout! I'll have to save this for later. Did you take the top of the ROP bar off permanently?

It’s not permanent but I don’t use it anymore. I got wheel spacers on the rear and my land is pretty flat aside from the drainage ditches so I’m not worried about rollovers. I looked into doing something with the rops up but it was too tall

If I did it again I’d add another foot to the front to keep the dash and my feet outta the rain lol

I can understand that. I'm not to worried about the rain here, I usually call it a day once rain starts falling. I'm more interested in shade to prevent sunburn and heat stroke in the summer.
