Edmonton and Area Toyotas

I've had that issue with a few different business lately (not just truck shops). It's like every company has more business than they can handle these days.

 

I bring my truck here for most of my maintenance. Clutch rebuild, Elka shock spherical bearing replacements, axel and wheel bearing replacements, alignments, etc.
I find they provide a great service with exceptional knowledge. I like to install most of my mods myself.

That is too bad that this happened to you. I find lots of places do this these days. But, one thing to mention is that this shop usually have multiple $50,000 restorations going on so a smaller project might slip through. Doesn't mean this should happen!

 

I've only gone to TFT (used to be 4 Wheel Parts) for a single wheel balance (weights fell off and needed a re-balance), and an alignment.
It went well and I had no problems. I'd go back in the future if I need another alignment.

I have King suspension, JBA Adjustable upper control arms, aftermarket wheels and tires with non-OEM geometry, so I wanted to go to someone that has familiarity with offroad suspension alignment and Tacomas.

 

Thanks for your comments dpele. Perhaps I should give them a second chance and hope that their service model changed. Two bad experiences turned me off, but if others are having reasonable service then that is good to know. Maybe once you establish a relationship with them you get better service, and I didn't have that relationship yet. Shouldn't have to be that way, but it often is.

 

Could've been they just had an off day.
We get so many tire kickers and time wasters that it's hard to tell..

I've had a similar experience while shopping for my first Toyota while looking at a Tacoma the salesman looked down on me.
In 2 years sonce I bought 3 Toyota from a different dealership, $200k worth.
I still buy parts and service from the first dealership as they're 5 minutes from me, now the owner asked me if I wanna place my next order with them..

 

Thanks everyone for the comments. I think I’ll give them a chance and see how it goes. If not we all know Krave does good work! Plus Krave is closer to the mountains so not a huge detour to test out the new modifications!

 

Been happy with my experience with 4wheel auto. Have bought a bunch of suspension stuff and tires off of them over the past while and have installed it myself.

Have had some work done there as well and was a very positive experience. Was trying to figure out a completely unrelated noise to the work that had been done, and myself and the mechanic who works there (Steve I believe) went out for a drive till we could pin point what it was and get it figured out.

 

Anyone know a shop that can do a cab mount chop in the Edmonton area?

Does anyone have recommendations on powder coating shops around Edmonton?

 

Not quite powder coat but, Alberta boys Custom's shop down in Bowden have that smooth body liner that's near indestructible. They may also have a hookup for Powder coating if you call and ask.

If you're willing to do a 4 hour round trip drive to see them, The Doughnut Mill in Red Deer is always a nice treat atleast.

Could be a fun project to swap this into the Tacoma.
