2024 Tacoma causes cancer risk?

Direct injection engines do cause more fine particulate matter, so that part of the claim is factual.

My WRX coats the exhaust tips with so much soot from being direct injected that you would think it is a diesel. Then again I am sure that car sees WOT more than your average Tacoma.

With the Tacoma having D4S though, it may better than purely direct injected engines as far as particulate emissions. I don't know the tune for when the port injection kicks in.

 

But only in the state of California.

I can second this. My EcoBoost creates a lot of soot too. Occasionally you can see a little dark cloud of smoke on cold starts.

 

The 3rd generation has both direct and port injection which was in scotty's video...does the 4th gen turbo have both port and direct injection?

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Nissan's 3.8 v6 used in the frontier is direct injection only.
