The tech text me today and said he drove it until it messed up on him. That was around 6 this evening and I haven’t heard anything back from him yet to see if he’s found anything out.

Tech can’t find anything wrong at this point he said. He’s gonna do more digging on Monday. This has been going on for few months now with multiple shops and getting really discouraged at this point that my truck is a lemon

It really sounds like something is cutting off fuel, either a fuel pump or ECU or sensor causing it. However you wrote this which is confusing and may be a clue -
“Rpms would randomly jump back up but no throttle response at all.” RPMs can’t jump up without a throttle response - do you mean it would rev up when you pressed the gas pedal but the truck didn’t speed up? Like the transmission was in neutral?

I meant the rpm’s would jump up as my foot is still on the throttle but felt nothing in the throttle and was steadily losing speed the entire time. I’m gonna try and figure out how to post video of it. I’ve got multiple on my phone.

Hmmm. just throwing this out there. Do you top off your fuel tank. Top off after the click? Or perhaps some sort of bad intermittent ground?

I have topped it off in the past but just to round up to the dollar amount. I’m trying to get a video to upload now so y’all can see what it does

Not saying this is your issue but the EVAP system can cause some strange issues. You’ll want to make sure to rule it out.

Usually, these 2.7 are very stellar and trouble free for the most part.

Anyhow, good luck with your issue. Keep us posted.

Did they install the aftermarket cats backwards?

I know the second cat is in correct position. I’ll go to the shop tomorrow and look at the front cat. I know I was still having this same issue with only 1 cat on it and it was installed the right direction. Sorry I can’t get a video to load on here from my iPhone. Still trying to figure it out
