    I looked at an OR Premium (54k) and an SR5 (45k). The OR (unfinished door handles, cheap vinyl seats, hard gray plastics) did not come close to 2024 expectations of $54k. The SR5 was gutted of features and its rental materials, blank buttons, and screen bezel look like they’re intended shame the owner for not paying more. Nowhere to go from there, until Toyota mixes up some packages.

    No matter how good Gen4 is, everything eventually circles back to the price, and we haven’t even seen the hybrid MSRP’s yet.

    How I felt. Same when I sat in the 84k tundra my wife said if I just had to have it. Felt like an expensive cheap plastic box. We will probably start buying used Toyota products moving forward with current offerings.

    Drove past the dealer today and was surprised to see that SR5 still on the lot. I figured they'd be like sasquatches for at *least* 6 months.

    Probably 2k more then the off road premium, same gap as the tundra I'm thinking

    Yep. Dangerously close to six-zero.

    Until recently, I’ve only seen the Gladiator venture there before, and we all know how that story ended…

    I didn't spend a ton of time in or around that SR5 but I thought the build quality was fine. I did not perceive any "cheapness".

    Unrelated: Should I expect an OR, Sport, and Pro to have a significantly better ride quality than the SR?

    That is some kinda of wow. My six year old midwestern based heaping pile of shit looks brand new compared to that. Still awaiting for my frame to rot underneath me as was promised.

    They're sitting, I get it, sales overall are down, but they aren't exactly flying off lots and my dealer is flooded with allocations hence the comments of bottle neck, there are pictures of them sitting loads at port. We are saying pricing not production.

    I drove another TRDOR today. One of the lower trims at $47k. Black in color. Sexy truck. But not what I want. Sales guy wanted to sell me the truck bad, offered 2k off sticker if I would go inside and fill out paperwork, haha.

    I told him I was only interested in the premium OR package but was really holding out for a TRD PRO. He was miffed. Said I would be lucky to see a PRO on the lot before 2026. Lol

    Good to know he offered 2k off already. Dealer didn't offer me anything off, but then again all I did was get a prelim price on the truck and didn't even ask for more off since it wasn't the trim I wanted. They aren't marking them up at all here at least.

    @wastingTime34

    My mistake. It was an SR5. It had coils in the rear.

    They want us to think it is hard to find a Truck. Even while we all stand in a lot full of them. It’s actually kind of funny. Yet sad at the same time.

    Well the Tacoma is hard to find at the moment in a spec you want since so few are on the lots. So if someone wants a Tacoma they don't have much leverage and dealers know that, once we finally see a good number getting delivered though that story will change.

    They tried to get me to go ahead and put money down to reserve what I want, but there isn't a chance I would do that without driving the spec I want first.
