Higher temp thermostat for warmer heater output?

I live basically in the arctic where winter temps are regularly -30 to -50C during winter. I have an oil pan heater, block heater and battery blanket which all keep things warm for starting.

unfortunately at running temps, the heater is just barely able to combat the cold and the air coming out of the vents is luke warm at best. If I set the airflow to recirculating mode, it gets a bit warmer but the windows soon fog up and frost over. Im sure the size of the 2.4L engine doesn’t help things.

Anybody know of a way to increase the output temp? I figure a warmer calibrated thermostat would help but I’m not sure if that could negatively affect other things with the engine. Or if there are any other ideas to throw around?

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Fresh Air works best with heat!

Have at anytime have you cleaned the heater core?

Are all the blend doors and heat control valve working correct?

I think that would be a better fix then a higher temperature thermostat that would only give you a few degrees.

Do you have a double Cab? What about a winter front ?

At -50 F my heater will run me out of the cab . I can not see much difference between the 2.7 and 3.4 for heat.

We used to put a piece of cardboard over part of the grilles on our vehicles in the Arctic regions of Alaska. This worked well, as it lessens the airflow coming in through the grille/radiator.

Not sure about our trucks but I know the older cars that had fuel injection you had to use a certain degree stat. I was used to carbureted engines and you usually used 165 degree stats. I needed one for my dad's Grand Am and asked for a 165. Guy looked it up and said they are 185..car won't run right otherwise.

I second this idea. A lot of older semi do this in the winter to keep the temps up. something as simple as a piece of plastic taped to the front of the radiator. What are coolant temps? If it's already running at operating temp I'd look into insulating the cabin to hold heat better.

I think this will be the best solution.

Thermostat isnt a factor in the deep cold, it never opens anyway.

Cardboard is a must, same with a block heater to circulate the coolant and keep things luke warm.
