For most people, I don't think there is much in it for them.

That said, it does make em a heck of alot easier to clean. No need for harsh chemicals just a some light soap and water. I guess it also makes em look spiffy.

In the end, its a labor of luv that I find rewarding.

I have so much other stuff that would hit me in a rollover, the fire extinguisher is pretty low on the list of worries.
My hydro flask water bottle would be more worrisome since it's right next to me.

So, I got lucky today and the rain held off, so I played truck for a few hours.

I got another wheel sealed. So, the drivers side is done. I was gonna go for a third, until I saw the radar. So, I changed paths and de-badged the drivers side (was finishing in a good steady rain). Holy cow, it looks so much better without the badges. I still need to get rid of the driver's side door handle cover though. Darn rain :annoyed:

    She is coming together though:

Not today, but yesterday, I finally got my roof racks on. Considering these are vintage UpTop Overland at this point, I'm happy
Mine have been "slightly" modified to hold Diode Dynamics SSC2's on the side (with custom 3D printed wedges so they aim down a little), a set of 12" Stage series light bars in the front (another custom job with a router), a rear bracket that houses 2 SSC1's, 6 VLED 6" light bars, 2 VLED max pods, and a camera that was custom made thanks to @paranoid56 (he cuts the weirdest stuff for me, and never complains! He also did the brackets for mounting the 12" bars to the front). And I added some aluminum square/rectangle tubing to reinforce it a little as well as act as a conduit for running all the wires through. The wiring isn't done yet, and I still have to mount one more set of lights and the cameras, as well as finish swapping the hardware for black, but at least they are on the top of the truck finally.

This time I used some of my son's 20 lb-test fishing line, but in the past I have used dental floss. You use the floss/line like a saw... slowly pulling on one side, then the other as you pull from the front of the badge to the rear (keep line/floss on badge side as opposed to paint side). That cuts through the foam tape/glue that holds the badge on. Then, with the remaining tape dry (key word) you use your thumb to gently and persistently roll the tape off the paint in the same direction as you flossed. Once that is done, you use some paint friendly Goo-gone on the remainder of adhesive. Took me 45 mins, but the rain didn't help. The tape comes off much more easily if its dry. Should be about 60 mins to do whole truck.
