Has anybody ever tried surplus tracer rounds in their AR? I don’t see how they’d work any differently in a AR than any M16

I've heard his name a few times and it was never a bad thing. Seems like a good options too when you want to make sure your work is done right. I've seen too may horror stories on reddit from local "gun smiths"

Its the same. Twist rate does still apply for stabilizing the heavier tracer loads though (ex use 55gr tracer instead of M856 64gr tracer in a 1/12 twist A1 style AR).

Anyone got a good source for skinny CAR-15 handguards? Ones that fit well and don't bend/creak when held. Looking for ones that will fit on a modern Colt 6920.

Oddly enough its not a true standard for these handguards due to slight differences in the front handguard cap.

Well I just pulled the trigger on my first AR-15 build. Hasn't even shipped yet so no pictures, but this is the components list. Thanks to my buddie who's a dealer, I was able to get the entire build for right under $1000. Anything without a price means, or an abnormally low price, means that those parts were given to me or I bought them from a friend. No I did not purchase optics because I want to learn iron sights... at least until cash starts burning a hole in my pocket again.

    Looks like a nice build!

Only real comment....that barrel seems rather expensive. You can find Hanson profiled barrels with low-pro gas blocks for ~150 or less (depending on length). Even if adding an adjustable gas block and bare barrel you should be able to do it for under 250 pretty easily

Great catch there, that price was for a Geisselle before I decided to go cheaper. I think I ended up paying around $150 for the BA Hanson

Anyone have experience with H2 vs H3 buffers in suppressed SBRs?

Got an Colt 6933 11.5" that runs 100% when un-supressed but get a few bolt over base jams when running suppressed with the stock H buffer. Thinking of trying the H3 right off the bat due to the level of fouling present on the brass (and the reputation of 6933s having large gas ports). Hoping that it can run okay with the H3 when un-supressed too.
