It's doing the job and nothing's wrong with it. Was just data logging to see if I need to go up in injector size before ver2.0. Any past issues were pertaining to Toyota cats and notorious for warming up too slowly and I remember tripping CELs often. I didn't understand but now I do lol. Mike Kojima touched on this topic when talking LT/Short headers.

Alright boys im back. Crazy story.
Highspeed lab received my noisey rotors on the 7th and said 4 day turnaround, not true. Had to get gruff last week and they finally shipped them. The day before they were supposed to arrive I get a call from shop foreman saying not to install them because they were not put together correctly, he said he didnt want to risk them coming out of time. I wasnt happy about another delay but appreciated his honesty about it. They overnighted me a fresh pack and I installed saturday with an oe coupler. Noise at idle is almost completely gone, except for a small chirp which i will attribute to the coupler. Before at idle or low rpm cruising it sounded like a rod knock. Now only noise heard in the cab is boost.

True; however, I found a solution that worked out well for me. Headers with no cats, rasp was god awful. I installed one of these behind the Y. These are straight through, and I have no idea what they’re packed with, but my results were an amazing difference.

same setup I run. URD equal lengths, no cats, Y merges into 3", then Vibrant resonator and a Magnaflow.

So I called aem and they don't warranty sensors after 90 days. So that's really not what I wanted to hear.

Well, that makes it easier to just toss in the trash and not hold onto it any longer then!

The goal is to reduce rasp at higher rpm, im no stranger with drone with the last few decades of motorsport modifications and personally raspiness is so much worse. My end goal is to tune the ehxaust note a bit more and how i see it is that more resonators is better than none.

I was going to go with dynomax race series but saw some good reviews on these total flows. We'll see how the Amazon resonators do. I have everything mocked and tacked up. Going to have it all welded up tomorrow in the morning and installed.

I did actually do this a couple of years back but eventually got used to the exhaust combo. I do have some trick quarter wave resonators i want to install post y pipe in addition to these mini y pipe resonators. But to answer your question no, I was not as scientific about it this time.

I just have some vibrant and mbrp resonators, dynomax and thrush mufflers in addition to the welded up stuff i have now. hopefully this iteration is closer to what i imagined.

It would be nice to take some time to study JFR's setup and attempt to replicate the angles and measurements. Im just too busy in general at the shop to have more than a few minutes to attend to my own projects..

I've been happy with the borla muffler and vibrant resonator on my truck. I'll stay with the same setup when the turbo goes on but I might add another muffler when I swap the supercharger on the 4Runner.

Just in case anyone needed the part name/numbers for the VSV hose that routes to the s/c and the port cap. My hose split so I figured I'd replace the bits.

    VSV hose purge (pn#23826-0P010)
    Vac plug (pn#90339-A0008)

These just showed up, I’m glad now I have a good spare set.

My only concern was what @Murphinator mentioned about the big pulley not fitting over the upgraded longer stud. I’m thinking that when it comes time to installing these, I may try lightly sanding the bore of the pulley as opposed to taking anything off the stud. I’m wondering what anyone else’s thoughts might be. I’d be afraid of weakening the stud, even if by a little bit (but hey, what do I know? lol).

I’m not sure if mine was just a one off issue or what but if you have a drill press just find a bit that can drill out the spacers a tiny bit more. I considered if it would weaken the stud but I was comfortable with the amount I took off

I paid about the same for a “fresh rebuilt full kit” 2 maybe 3 years ago and it was anything but.

A new maggy unit would’ve been pretty much the same and less of a headache. But I did end up with some nice upgrades and mods to the S/C as an end result

Well, per my usual MO, I took the winter off pretty much every car and truck project and went silent on you guys. Now that it's spring and we're close to Canadian road construction/summer season, I'm totally excited about getting things summer ready and making my truck/car even better.

The project I'm aiming to finish in a few months is a 1UZ-FE swap into my Nissan 300ZX. Looking forward to sharing some pictures with you guys.

    How's everyone doing?
