you worried about privacy? your information is being sold everywhere. Just look at the bottom of this thread , theyre selling us stuff have you ever noticed that some suggestions are very similar to what we googled

 

yes, and i dont use google.
I have tracker blocking, ad blocking and all that fun stuff in my browser.
My cell is running GrapheneOS.
I take it seriously.

Oh and if you read up on it, youll find that your car is WORSE than google.

nice dont forget to buy a tin foil hat as well lol im not knocking your thread . It is a useful bit if information . When you buy a car/truck they disclose this information of course i opted out.

 

The ads they run on this website help pay for the servers and bandwidth so im not worried . You cant really escape data mining and selling . If you bought a house or property 100% its public information.Lets say you bought a house on 420 Elm street . I can google it and find out the owners name when it was bought, how much they paid in property taxes etc etc Redfin ,and a bunch of other realty websites paid for that info so they can be the ones to get a commission when they help you buy /sell the house THEY SELL your info everywhere so read the disclosures very closely

i have another example lets says your phone number is 711 .all I know is your name and phone number . I google your number , and a website says find out the persons address , emails , and even what social media that person has. You just do a one time payment of 0.99 cents. Well that website paid someone or bought a list with emails and phones number and they did the legwork.
So its bigger then just toyota is my point

GM recently stopped selling telemetry data from their customer's cars to insurance companies after some major customer pushback. Some customers had their Ins. rates raised based off the data GM waas selling. Data collection is a thing and can affect your wallet negatively when used as a revenue generator, I'd suggest pushing back when you can. Automotive companies are some of the worst about your data.

Thank you for noting these, OP. Consumers should push back in any way they can against the gross invasions of privacy that happen with modern tech. There will always be a bunch of naysayers talking about tinfoil hats in these threads. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be so willing to take whatever corporations dish out, but regardless it’s best to ignore them.
