@ShootDux which Toyota you work for? TMMC or a dealer? I worked at TMMC for 31 years. Retired beginning of 2020.

I used to work for Richmond Hill Toyota As an apprentice technician from 2013-2017. Moved on to BMW when i got my full license. Was there for just under a year before deciding that I'd rather run cranes than spin wrenches.

Funny enough when i go in to buy parts my old employee number is still my Customer number and i get parts at cost automatically.

Replaced the 4Runner's rear driveshaft with Ultra-Power P/N 936763. Factory driveshaft was too heavily rusted. Also greased the front driveshaft with Castrol Pyroplex Blue #2.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Tested the driveshaft up to highway speeds with no unusual vibrations. For a $300 driveshaft it's pretty good.

^The day? According to the Mayo Clinic, if it takes more than 4 hours, you should see a doctor.

Replaced the 4Runner's stereo with something from this decade, "Honwally" Android 13 8-Core with Carplay and Android Auto. It's basically the generic Joying/Daisaita Android head unit shipped together with a 4Runner-specific bezel, which includes a few physical buttons. Similar to the earlier unit I installed in my father's Subaru four years ago, it's very compact and lightweight, mounted to the dash entirely with the plastic bezel clips; the four OEM 10mm bolts aren't reused. My 2010 SR5 has no backup cam, no Bluetooth, no GPS, no satellite radio, no steering wheel controls, no USB... I plugged in about 25% of the connectors on the included harness and things seems to work. :notsure:

Got Bluetooth paired for now. There's a built-in mic on the front panel, which helps since my 4Runner never had one. Will figure out Android Auto and wireless TLink mirroring later on.

^Oh it's no surprise at all, because they copied the 2020+ 4Runner's OEM bezel. Stock photo from Kelley Blue Book:

The 4Runner is probably the last Toyota model with hilariously large climate control buttons.

Yes. The donut is a compact spare on the SR, which isn't sold in Canada. The higher trims get a full-size temp spare that looks like a DOT racing tire.

Missed this earlier - Land Cruiser Canadian pricing was announced: https://driving.ca/auto-news/news/2024-toyota-land-cruiser-canadian-pricing

    $69,290 1958 Ed.
    $77,290 "vanilla" Land Cruiser
    $83,290 premium pkg.
$90,370 First Edition, limited to 290 units

All prices are excluding fees which add another $2200 or so, before taxes. A First Edition would be around $105k out the door if the dealer doesn't add any "market adjustment". At that price you do get a matching a 33" spare (265/70-18), though it hangs lower than the diff pumpkin. The 33" spare looks small because the new platform is 4" wider than before. The "mid-size" 250 series is wider than the 80 series.
