At first I didn’t like the wheels, now after seeing them often I like them.
Same goes for the gen 3 Tundra, found it hideous, now I find myself looking for an Army Green Limited for under $50,000.

Working on a lien delete for my title…..
This dealer had an ocean of Tundras. They share their lot with a Jeep dealer….They must have had over 50 Wranglers….this is NOT a big town.

You would be silly not to buy these trucks today with how much they will cost tomorrow!

I have learned my lesson.. car payments are depressing! I think I’m going to walk from now on.

True. And I guess that's not really an advantage over the Taco, since you can haul plywood or drywall very neatly with 2x4's in the bed notches.

It's really the interior space that's an advantage.

Longbed Tacomas fit 4x8 plywood sheets just fine with the back end just propped up on the closed tailgate. I’ve carried plenty that way and I’ve never seen a need for them to fit between the wheel wells. If I worked in construction I’d have a bigger truck but with only an occasional need to haul plywood the Taco is just fine as is. Shortbed might be a different story.

Whatever design changes it would take to get 4’ between the wells would probably result in a Tacoma that looked weird, couldn’t fit decent tires, or was just way too wide.

Just imagine, these prices are before the hybrid. Tack on another $3K+, the Tacoma hybrids will really sit on the lot. So much for the 450+ torque....

The Trailhunter + TRD Pro will be a bust.

America just doesn't have all that extra disposable money for a midsize.

The car market is horrible right now, look around- not a great time for Toyota to overprice their Mexican made truck.
Jeep gladiator is offering $17k off MSRP and still has a V6 - no matter what you think about Jeep it’s a way better value than the Tacoma and it’s really just not close

I wouldn’t own a Jeep if it was free and you gave me the $17k.

There is no reason to reach back into the time machine to compare 2019 prices; you can just compare 2023 prices to 2024 prices. I paid $36,700 for my 2023 TRD OR DC with LED package. MSRP was $40,700, and I got a straight $4000 cash discount. No "dealer fee" or add ons or other nonsense. This was poverty trim, with the ugly chrome bumper caps. But, it had a power seat and power slider, as did all '23 ORs.

To get the power seat and slider, you now need the upgrade package, which makes the '24 TRD OR ~$50K. From the price I paid to current MSRP, in less than a year, you have a 36% price increase, while inflation on durable goods (including cars) has been flat.

With the number of posts on here daily asking where all the trucks are, and why can't they buy one, it doesn't really seem like supply is outpacing demand.

Speaking of fanboys, there seems to be no shortage on the Toyota side, so I don't really see these going on steep discount, like ever.

Look how much people are still asking for 2.5 gen.

Even if the pentastar v6 is okay, there’s a lot more to a vehicle than just that

There are plenty of terrible Jeep products, there’s no denying that- I’ve seen Compass’s blow transmissions before 10k miles. Just have to buy the right Jeep really and you’re golden with the proper maintenance.

I like this post and doubt I will ever buy another FCA product again. I have a 2018 Wrangler JLU and after 66K miles it has been rock solid...except for the corrosion on some of the aluminum panels. Just picked it up from the body shop and they were not able to fix the corrosion on the doors so I now have 4 brand new doors. FCA just paid out over 7K for the work. Why I will never buy another one is because it took almost a year for the approval process to get the warranty work done. Had to make multiple trips to the dealer for pictures and during this process I went over 60k miles....denied. Had to submit it again with proof that it was before 60k miles....denied again since I past the 5 year mark. They also denied it since it wasn't rust. Time and time again I had to attached their internal document of the known issue and their repair process as well as a copy of a class action law suit that has been filed on this exact issue. Finally got it approved and fixed. Never FUCKING Again!!!
