Bold move to put a SC on so early. The fact that you are now getting misfires and other codes does not lead me to believe it is tune related. Though the OTT tune would probably be better. If tune related, it would rear its head immediately in my opinion. I would have it professionally diagnosed, hopefully not a head gasket. What plugs are you running and are they gapped correctly? High octane fuel?

When you schedule with one of our third-party retailers, you will have the opportunity to test the various offerings we have available for your vehicle. However, should you leave with something that doesn't work out, anyone within our network will be able to assist you in getting your throttle adjusted appropriately.

We have a few brick-and-mortar retailers and many mobile tuners—correct. Payment methods can vary a little from retailer to retailer. Reach out to your local resource and start the conversation with them, and I'm certain they'll be happy to fill you in on all the details, including payment options.

There are a few things I'd be interested in seeing in your situation. Hopefully, you've not cleared the codes, as some telling information can be gleaned from the freeze frame data the ECU will store when those codes are triggered. I'd be very interested to see some of those details.

I'd also confirm your spark plugs are appropriately torqued. A few of our members have suffered from improperly torqued spark plugs (finger tight from the factory), which could potentially cause some of your issues.

I pulled and moved 4 of the 6 plugs around and they weren't very tight when I removed them. It took no effort to loosen them. I unfortunately did clear the codes. Pic of them. Have you seen anything like this before on a mag tune? After it happened I restarted the truck and continued on my way home and it drove completely fine. When I had the scan tool hooked up after and can see the live data it will show misfire for 5,6,3,1 all at different times, but if it wasn't for seeing it visually in the live data I wouldn't be able to tell otherwise it was happening.

Since you tightened the plugs and cleared the codes and it hasn't returned. Maybe its ok. I've read on here somewhere where a misfire with no code is normal . I maybe wrong though

Anyone notice a change of mpg switching from mild/medium to medium/spicy or vise versa? Or does it stayed the same but with different throttle?

I don't think the throttle settings directly effect the economy. Indirectly, in terms of how you use the pedal and the amount of throttle you supply, is likely what impacts economy. With a sharper throttle, I suppose you'd have to be more conscious and conservative with pedal.

Just had my vehicle retuned this past weekend to the Lite/Mild. Speaking with the tuner, I was told there is no such thing as a lite/mild hybrid using Non-ECT. Instead it would be lite for non-ECT and then mild for ECT. Either way, for my set up I am happy with the Lite setting. If anyone drives in a lot of stop and go traffic I recommend trying the Lite if the mild is too aggressive on slow speed take offs.

Not as a standard offering, there isn't. It's a custom-built option for those who need it.

Reason why I asked was Westcoast taco on youtube mentioned in his video when he changed from lite/mild to medium/spicy he notice he lost about 30 miles per tank. I was also wondering if increase throttle also pushes the gas more without you even stepping on the pedal itself. At times I do feel like the truck would move more without me having to press on the gas pedal is this true?

Yes, the different throttle variants we offer change the relationship between pedal and throttle body opening angle. The more aggressive settings open the throttle 'more' for the same pedal input.

I'm currently on KDMax 10.0 and really like how KDMax resolved the gear hunting. I'm confident that OTT has that resolved too. There are still two things that I wish were better:
    1. At WOT my truck comes alive at above 3000 rpm. I wish the torque curve was a little lower. Kdmax may have helped with this but I still really notice the lag until over 3000 rpm. I realize this is a characteristic of this motor but I've also read that OTT makes this better.

    2. Cruise control still not great with KDmax.... especially when towing our 4k travel trailer. I can easily hold 65mph at 3k rpm (S4) when towing but with the cruise on it downshifts to 3rd too frequently.

I paid $750 for the KDMax tune pack, cable, etc and have experimented with the different throttle settings. I gotta say that KdMax was exceptional with walking me through the process to tune my own truck.

Having said that, I can't help but wonder if OTT will be worth the expense to swap over and if they will be as easy work with helping me tune my truck.

Don't use cruise control when towing. Even the OEM manual states this.

    whys that
Also says don’t use 6th. Did both. No issue. Same for many others.

I find a good RPM. Use as needed. Can’t imagine 2000mi not use CC a single time rub your heel off. Steady pedal and CC sounds like the same ECM input read to me.

obviously If you hit up hill take it off to feel the truck.

Sixth is your overdrive, you don't want to be going in an out of lockup. Using cruise control with an exacerbate this. Sixth will also be the weakest gear. And when I say weakest I mean the physical strengths of the gear. Not using overdrive is common practice even in manual transmissions. To be completely honest I thought this was common knowledge.

Another reason not to tow while using cruise control is the fact that you won't be playing as close attention, you need to be in better control of the vehicle at all times. Now semi trucks do come with cruise contro, however you have to know exactly when and where it is safe to the feature.

Let me rephrase my question. So the higher the input of throttle response, let's say (lite/mild vs. Med/spicy) does the throttle body plate stay open continuously to allow more throttle response when you add more pressure to accelerator or the throttle reaponse increases more only when pressure is applied on accelerator?

So basically with lite/mild the throttle body plate is open less as compared to med/spicy to achieve their own throttle response.

I hope I questioned this better this time.

I see a lot of comments about the OTT throttle being too touchy from idle or close to idle, even on mild. Mine gets touchy, so much that the fiancé refuses to pull the truck into the garage for fear it will lurch forward.

Is there a way to visually represent the throttle changes compared to a graph that shows the throttle curve over the range of the pedal? And is there not a way to smooth that first, say 5% so its not so touchy?

Additionally, I have a random deadspot in my pedal for the first 5% or so of pedal travel. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does it's usually light input leaving a stop sign, or lightly getting back on the gas after a slow roll into the driveway or approaching the garage. I press the pedal, nothing, press a little more, nothing, nothing, then suddenly BAM it kicks in at whatever percentage the pedal is at. Any thoughts on this? I've read a couple other OTT members have mentioned the same thing.

I've tried reaching my local tuner but have not had any luck contacting them.
