Sure you got all the air out of the heater core? Sometimes you have to park on a really good incline with the heat on full blast to purge it. Squeezing the hoses can help too.

yeeeep I do this, take the rad cap off (while truck is cold) and also blip the throttle a bit and it seems to bump bubbles out

Why not use a burping funnel? Cheap and easy, always worked well for me.

Because the heater core is the high point in the system on flat ground, could leave it open all day with that funnel and stab the throttle for fun and not chase the bubble out. Helps sure, but when you airlock a core a lot of the time the best thing you can do is loosen the clamp nearest to it and force the air out or squeeze near it. Setting it lower than the rad helps it move naturally on its own.

Yep thats what I was missing, I used a coolant funnel and thought I got it all, but I never physically pushed air out of the core
That'll give me something to do tonight

I like black coffee, and it's a bit bitter. Not everyone likes sugary drinks. Plus the bitterness helps remind us it's a cruel dark world and better helps us cope with it.

This, coffee fits my brand of depression rather nicely.

Grandfather passed away last night in his sleep. We knew it was coming so it's not a big shock or anything, his dementia was so bad this past year that he had to be housed away from my grandmother for her own safety. Then he had a heart attack last week and it was just a matter of time, so we're just happy he's not going through all that anymore. He was an extremely sharp witty guy before the dementia and would have hated knowing how he was living in the end. Shits scary, wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
